lanigan123 Posted February 20, 2019 Report Posted February 20, 2019 I’m not so certain I look at the roster and potential roster and see a 20 win team.... is it a given Roby returns? Who else transfers or leaves. Honestly, it shouldn’t feel like in year 7 you need another 5. I’m yesr 7 you’d hope when someone goes down you have enough guys in the program to fill the role. Just not where I’d hope to be in year 7. Quote
*Deleted Account* Posted February 20, 2019 Report Posted February 20, 2019 I think 5 million does it. Going from 26 million in B10 revenue to 51. Huskers can afford it. Quote
nustudent Posted February 20, 2019 Report Posted February 20, 2019 No way do we pay $5. Now $3.5-$4 is another question Husker4theSpurs 1 Quote
KearneyMan Posted February 20, 2019 Report Posted February 20, 2019 I don't want Altman or Marshall. Question about Hoiberg, didn't he have a health scare a few years back? Quote
PimpMario Posted February 20, 2019 Report Posted February 20, 2019 Probably none of them. But maybe send Osborne and Frost to meet altman Cowboy Kermit 1 Quote

You know the headline would read "Nebraska basketball coach takes Huskers to tourney with 90% chance to win first tourney game; Coach has heart attack right before the game, Huskers lose" Quote
KearneyMan Posted February 20, 2019 Report Posted February 20, 2019 Ok this is wild. What all you think of Geno Auriemma as a possibility? Quote

I think he wouldn't come here if offered, and I think we'd be dumb to offer him. His entire staff's recruiting ties and talent evaluation process are tied to the women's game. They'd be starting at square one. Quote

jason2486 Posted February 20, 2019 Report Posted February 20, 2019 While I still hold out hope that we somehow pull off a miracle, I have one main request if we go the route of a new coach: CONFIDENT SHOOTERS. It's pathetic to watch the last place team confidently shoot 3's like the Warriors, while we are the most hesitant-looking group of good players I have maybe every witnessed. Art Vandalay 1 Quote

HoiBall Posted February 20, 2019 Report Posted February 20, 2019 Also to note: Fred grew up a big Nebraska football fan, calls TO one of his coaching hero’s. Has family that lives in Nebraska. Niece goes to Nebraska and is a manager for the basketball team. Dad owns multiple degrees from the university. Fred has an opportunity to do something that you can’t do at a place like UCLA, or Minnesota, or whatever other school with basketball history. He can become a legend, and become Nebraska’s version of Johnny Orr, Coach K, Bill Self, etc. Also, he doesn’t have the pressure of having to make a sweet 16 every year. Pretty nice gig if you ask me. Nebrasketball1979, dustystehl, jason2486 and 2 others 5 Quote

FredsSlacks Posted February 20, 2019 Report Posted February 20, 2019 if moos pulls off hoiberg or marshall, they should just build him a statue now. both seem like a big longshot. but then again, if 3 mil is really in play then anything is possible. i have no idea what the budget actually is. Quote

I'm saying that they're likely already tied toward certain short-term/long-term budget items for these sports. That just seems to be how the government and government entities tend to work. Quote
