What constitutes "playing time" to players today?  Honest question.  Does playing time mean "I want to start"?  Does playing time mean "I want 30 minutes a game"?   To me, playing time means you are in the rotation.  If others (in particular recruits) think the same as I do, we need two players to take the place of Ed and MJ in the rotation.  If you use that rationale, both Ernst and Duby will get playing time if they come to Huskerville.

Take both.

Ernst looks like he can play and Doby is a senior.

My point isn't whether we want both. If it is all about what Miles wants then for heavens sake take 4 or 5 McDonalds All Americans while we're at it. My point is that we probably get a shot at one of the two, not both. Lots of playing time available on lots of good teams

Considering Doby's resume....there aren't a lot of good teams offering playing time opportunities to him.   He was a back-up at Winthrop and Ball State is the other main school recruiting him.  I would most definitely take Ernst over him.   If Doby still wants to come after...ok...if not...so be it.

I only ask this question because I've been following this program for more than 4 decades.  What happens if/when we don't sign anyone during this signing period?  It's been a week.  Very few good Husker recruiting moments in my lifetime.....

I heard Horne was a stand-by recruit of KSU.  KSU signed someone else and he is still listing.  How many of the players that we are now actively recruiting "primary" targets and how many are secondary or stand by targets?

I guess my point is that we may have two or three recruits standing by and are ready and willing to sign with us.  However, they cannot yet pull the trigger because  we are waiting to hear from one of our primary recruits?  Just wondering.

Well...the last time we had nine available scholarship players we went to the NCAA Tournament (we had ten total, but one redshirted).  And the last time there was a Copeland and a Gill on the same team, that team went to the NCAA Tournament.  If that means anything...

Woops, I was wrong about that.  I was thinking 1992, but we were down to 9 again in 2000 (Danny's last year, and were down to 8 after Belcher sat out - and it was a disaster.)

Yep.

Four openings... two guards & two bigs.

We need a Wing and a Big... we have 6 guards now with Allen in the fold and only 3 Wings and 1 Big
