Yeah I was gonna say.  We have the "luxury" of plenty of open spots right now (if you want to call it that) so there's no reason to slow play anyone at this stage.

I was gonna say let's just hurry up and fastplay everyone so we can get some good news before we get any more bad news.

Do we want a JUCO guard/someone with more experience if we land Allen? Otherwise seems like we're in the market for 2 guards.

Allen is the best player we are in on without question.   He's priority number 1.

I am essentially asking whether or not we want Maye is dependent on Allen.

Pry should take both regardless.   Both can play the 1 or 2.   Taylor and Gill are Seniors.   Palmer and Watson are juniors.  And we have the spots to allow for both

Anybody decent who wants to come here--we want them. Which is kinda funny to type because I've heard this sentiment a lot recently as if it's something new because, you know, it's Miles' last chance and we have all these openings for some reason. I happen to think it's been this way all along and it's a testament to how hard it is to recruit here. Not an excuse, because it's ultimately Miles' job to assemble the roster, but more of a reason for what's what. Despite Miles' ability to upgrade the talent here, he's always taken heat (deservedly) for being a player short, overloading at a position, or having unbalanced classes. I think it's just the reality of taking players who will actually show up and play here. You can't tell a player you've recruited no just because we already have something similar. We barely fill out scholarships the way it is. And part of this could explain some of the transfers or at least the unhappiness of players playing out of position.

If we can get one more big, I think we're set for next year.  It's the year after that we are looking to take care of with freshmen guards at this point.  I mean, they probably get some good minutes this year if they're good enough, but like nustudent said above, we're now getting long-in-the-tooth with guards.  Again, it's not this coming season I'm really concerned about as far as adding guards.  It's the year or two after that.

Having said that, the juco kid from Indiana looks like a player who can get his own shot and score from three levels.  It'd be nice to have one more shooter and a guy who can get to the rim.  And, if it's the same guy, so much the better.

I think it depends on where you pencil guys in at. If Watson is strictly playing the 2 or if he will play both1/2.

We still have 4 open slots so I am all onboard adding another body at guard and using the last two slots for back up bigs.

Depending on interest I'd like a combo of

1)Ernst

2) Duby/Hans

3) Chandler (let him redshirt develop let him bang in the paint with tanner/Jordy for a full year and get stronger )

4) Maye

5) Bigby-Williams (if he interested move him to the front of the list with and subtract Duby

my preferd would be Ernst,Chandler, Maye

Unless we know something about palmer and hill being ready for next year, I'd put maye 4th behind Hans, Ernst and dube

Hill?

Unless you know something the rest of us don't, we've only got 3 spots left. They could go any number of ways with those.

I know nothing... especially how to count. For some reason I thought we had 5 slots open..

With 3 slots open I still don't mind a guy like Maye but first priority is replacing Morrow and Jacobson. I want size .

What the Sam Hill?

;)

Speaking of Sam Hill....one of the meanest, orneriest, and funniest signs I ever saw at the Devaney - "Where the Sam Hill did you get those ears?".    At a game vs Iowa State, who had a player named Sam Hill ( who happened to have some pretty big ears ).
