2017-18 Husker opponents

Recommended Posts

According to the ESPN broadcast today, the last time the Jayhawks had a multi-game home losing streak was back in 1989.  The game last week was in KC so I'm not sure it counts.  This was Roy Williams' first team:

So does Kansas on a 2-game losing streak make you hopeful or worried?

Are they just down this year and beatable? Or they had a couple bad games and are gonna come out on fire against us?

Scares me. How many times has KU lost 3 straight under Self? Cant' be that often.

Edit: Its happened twice in his 13+ years at KU.

It's funny because sometimes it works out that the team comes out and says enough is enough and lays waste to their next opponent. But sometimes it turns out that's just what the team is. The handful of times I've seen them, they don't seem to be a vintage KU team. They've still got some extremely talented players, of course, but their lack of depth hurts them and I'm just not sure they're a great team, at least not yet. I expect KU to come out with their hair on fire. How far into the game will that last? If NU brings the effort they have the last two games, they'll give the Jayhawks everything they can handle.

Kansas has been playing with seven scholarship players.  They have gotten 11 points off its bench in the last 3 games.  (That's not an average of 11, that's 11 total.)  Not having the Preston kid who magically procured a mystery automobile is killing them, but they do get the Arizona State transfer Cuncliffe eligible for Nebraska.  The 7'0" kid Azubuike has only been going 23 minutes a game, which leaves Mitch Lightfoot at center for the rest of the time, who hasn't exactly set the world on fire, or else they really go small with Mykailiuk.  They do have a few weaknesses this year.

Until our guys foul out, that is.

Really this is the one thing Kansas has been the most deficient at this year.

Otherwise, Azubuike is shooting 78.4% from the field and 42.9% from the FT line so having our posts foul out because they're putting him on the line wouldn't be the worst thing.
