AuroranHusker Posted April 15, 2016 Report Posted April 15, 2016 Well, I'm guessing Tim Miles will no longer be speaking (on friendly terms) with Tubby Smith any time soon. Read the responses on the twitter box. Even reporters in Lexington, Kentucky, are calling out Coach Miles for that! It's not like it's the off-season or anything... Quote
hhcmatt Posted April 15, 2016 Report Posted April 15, 2016 I don't know if he is or not, but have you considered that he tweeted that because he's on friendly terms with Tubby? Quote
jimmykc Posted April 15, 2016 Report Posted April 15, 2016 Doesn't anyone else feel this is a bit cryptic? hhcmatt, Red Don and Norm Peterson 3 Quote

I was joking around about it. Did you read the responses? It's hilarious how fickle the coaching profession (and, subsequently, transferring players) appears to be and that some people care about 'their' team a wee bit too much. Quote

Calipari -> Pastner -> Tubby. They're going from an uptempo guy who got them 1-2 seeds to an uptempo guy who topped out at a 6 seed to a guy who will win there but probably not much more than Pastner and it will in a ho-hum slow sort of way. This is the NFL equivalent of finding out your team just hired Marty Schottenheimer. basketballjones 1 Quote

All Memphis coaches have done well, their conference is fairly decent too but not nearly as difficult as the B1G or Big 12. I actually think Tubby Smith will do well there. He plays a style that players can be successful. He's taken 5 teams to the Big Dance, he'll make it 6. Quote

HuskerFever Posted April 15, 2016 Report Posted April 15, 2016 He sure ruffled some feathers I have a feeling that this is one of those situations where everybody is completely offended except Miles and Tubby. Quote
AuroranHusker Posted April 15, 2016 Author Report Posted April 15, 2016 Funny that everyone in Memphis (and Lexington) lost their minds over it. haha Quote
AuroranHusker Posted April 15, 2016 Author Report Posted April 15, 2016 There was a "Timmy vs Tubby" tee shirt from 2008-09: http://www.csurams.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/111908aaa.html Quote

hskr4life Posted April 15, 2016 Report Posted April 15, 2016 Reading some of those comments he got back on twitter was absolutely hilarious. People are so touchy... man. Tubby probably got a kick out of it... but these people man. Quote

Huskerpapa Posted April 15, 2016 Report Posted April 15, 2016 Sometimes things are said or written that are meant to be funny...I kind of think that was the intent, but unless you really know the intent, it can come across as somewhat spiteful. Quote

HuskerCager Posted April 15, 2016 Report Posted April 15, 2016 That was one clumsy tweet. And maybe an even clumsier recant. If you want to explain what you said, why would you do that through Gary Parrish? Quote

AuroranHusker Posted April 16, 2016 Author Report Posted April 16, 2016 Miles cracks a little joke on twitter, and everybody in TN & KY loses their minds. Who's got the problem, exactly?! haha Quote
FredsSlacks Posted April 16, 2016 Report Posted April 16, 2016 it was a dumb tweet by miles. even if they are friends. he coached at tech for 3 years and got them back to the tourney. it's not like he left after 1 year. Quote
