Or how about Lincoln High agreeing to forfeit at half time two weeks ago because they were down 63-0. All the best athletes are going to the same few schools.Something has to be done to keep some semblance of talent balance.

This-- like if we played hard to win, it's not a bad result. If we spread the minutes out, it's a pretty dang good result. How'd our shooting look in a road arena? What lineups played a lot together and who started/was in there at the end, etc.

I put little to any thought into an exhibition win or loss. No clue as to who played, where they played, substitution pattern, plays ran, et al.

And then the next week Lincoln High beats Omaha South 39-6. How undermanned does that make South? Something needs to be done about the situation.

What people might not know is that Colorado came slowly out of the gate last season, scrapping by lower tier teams as they built up chemistry which cumulated into a NIT appearance.

Welp….let’s go ahead and cancel the season.

Before social media I still wanted to know what the team looked like in preseason scrimmages and practices and couldn't wait for the season to start...

It's only a freaking scrimmage. Life was so much more fun before social media!

Would like to see a box score. Would like to know what the rotation looked like. Utah probably has more length than anyone we'll face this year. Their top 8 goes: 6'4" 6'6" 6'8" 6'8" 6'9" 6'9" 6'10" 7'1" November 4th can't get here fast enough.

Of course it's too early to overreact but .... firing your coach midseason and then hiring his assistant who takes over interim coach and outperforms is not a good formula. Maybe Diebler will be OK, but the long history of basketball is littered with the carcasses of interim coaches who were hired in the aftermath of their boss' firing.

Agree that this is disconcerting. It may reflect on the growing popularity of Volleyball and the ensuing club season. It may be cultural as GI’s school district is 54% Hispanic. From what I have gleaned the coaching staff wants to develop the young players in school at the JV level.

I cannot speak highly enough of Coach Tony Bennett. He dominated the ACC with less talent than Duke and UNC. A total class act who developed players. To critics of his style miss the point of playing the game and that is to win. College BB, all of college sports need more Tony Bennett’s.

Didn't want to start a new thread just for this, but big news out of Virginia: Goodman clarified later on that this is NOT health related, and speculation abounds that Bennett did not want to play the NIL game anymore hence the early retirement.

And yet, the results of the scrimmage will tell us everything and nothing about this season at the same time.
