Guy is telling me good things here. See if it goes 2/2 this off season.

 

You're hearing that we may get Max? I lost hope when I was told extra stipulations were placed on Max when considering a transfer within the B1G. Max would be a tremendous compliment to our current group.

 

When you say 2/2, is the other Gill?

I'm guessing Nebraska. Here's why:

1. Niang is returning, and the Mayor might leave

2. Indiana has a Rivals four star Center coming in and is still recruiting a five star big (and they are stuck with Crean)

3. Nebraska offers opportunity to play and to provide leadership

What sort of stipulations are you hearing? I've heard nothing about anything that would hinder his coming here. I could see something along the lines of them not wanting to let him go to MSU or OSU, but I haven't heard about anything that would prevent him from coming here. I can't imagine he'd visit a place where he'd have difficulty getting into.

No worries. My source is pretty close to the situation, too, but unless yours is coach Miles, I'm comfortable saying they're not close to done trying to filling that spot, whether it's Max or someone else.

Great news that we have other options. I assume the individual who told me the information about Max's recruitment and not to expect a big for next season was trying to manage expectations.

Yes other was gill and I think max wouldn't visit either of the B1G schools if he didn't have intentions and be able to make it. But I feel like we will reel him in. Like I said just a gut feeling.

He looks like he's almost 6'9" in that picture. Shoes add 1 inch so he's probably 6'7" and change.

I would suspect that listed height for all college players are with them wearing 1+ pairs of shoes.

The NBA has always done this because they all play in shoes so thats the height they will be on the court.  The NBA does measurements at the combine with and without shoes but it really doesnt matter because you're still working with the same difference for everyone.

What matters is a guy's reach.  Standing flat-footed, how high can he reach?  That tells you more about how big a guy can potentially play than how high the top of his head is.

 

Sooooo ... how long are Bielfeldt's arms?  Anyone know?

Looking at the photo above, Max seems to have fairly average length arms. He appears to be more of a combo 4/5 than a traditional 5, no matter the exact measurables of his height or arm length.

Who's going to be their head coach a month from now? My money says it won't be the Mayor.

 

 

Something to keep an eye on, definitely.  Apparently Holberg is at the top of the Bulls' list.

i gotta say, 9er, I really thought that your noon update was a COMMITMENT to Nebrasketball by Max, today. Oh well, guess we'll need to keep an eye on the potential move of the Ames Mayor to Chi-town, now that Thibs is gone as HC!

So . . . I'm calling it: Chukwu picks the Huskers as a scholarship player, and Bielfeldt picks the Huskers as a walk-on.

 

That would be unexpectedly pleasant
