I'm not saying a top 2 team by any stretch of the imagination. But we SHOULD be better next year (now, that may not be saying much obviously). But we will at least have much, much, much more depth on the floor. Plus it will be most guys 2nd season in the system which will help. We just need Fuller, Hawkins and Webster to be able to come in and help as well.

We'll definitely be improved, but that's obviously not saying a ton. We'll likely be picked to finish in the bottom quarter of the Big Ten. I would consider it a good season next season (not sure why I'm talking about next season already... but it was brought up, so I'll play) if we finish above 8th. Expansion takes place in 2014, right??

If you go by the Pomeroy standard, we are 194 of 347 (55.9%). Ergo, if 50% is average then we're doing above average. ;) But I get what you're saying.

Might want to double check your math. 194/347 means that 55.9% of teams are ahead of us. Thus we would be in the 44th percentile, slightly below average. :)

no....no.....no....

From further down the line, tells you about all you need to know

I have no idea how to quote your quote, I'll figure it out another day when I have some time but I take offense to Dirk's comment. I've had season tickets in the nosebleeds for years. I like it, very spacious.

I've heard both Petteway and Pitchford are better than any player we have playing this year. You throw those 2 guys in with Webster and a couple good role players and you can do some damage. We might be picked to finished in the bottom 3 or 4 in the conference but don't think we will finish there. I think we finish around 6th or 7th next year. Just a hunch.

heard the same about petteway, but i've heard pitchford needs to get tougher and isn't really impressing anyone.

Hopefully your info is right

I haven't seen either in person, but I'll add that Ubel said in an interview that he wished he had another year so he could play with Petteway. That said, I think we'll enjoy having all of the new guys next season.

Barfneck today on Biggs, Pitchford and Pettaway:

Lee Barfknecht:

I've seen them. Biggs would start. I know there seems to be massive interest in the other two guys, but everybody needs to remember that PItchford played only 12 MINUTES the whole season at Florida and that Pettaway averaged 3.3 points a game on a team that lost 25 times.

Based on what I know and have heard... Petteway is David Rivers version 1.0001. They are both raw and not the greatest of shooters. Rivers might be slightly taller, but Petteway is a little better athlete.

Pitchford has the most potential. He is a big man who can shoot and is a great athlete.

I can't see biggs playing a ton of minutes with all the guards this team is going to have next year.

Fuller and Webster will make an impact right away, but I am not sure about Hawkins.

I disagree on Biggs. From what I saw of him last year in the KJCCC, and from what I know, he will have the most experience, and I think will be above Parker as the backup point. Heck he may even start at Point, and Webster may go to a wing

I could be wrong, but I can't imagine Miles would have 1) brought Biggs here and 2) redshirt him if he wasn't going to make a big impact. That's just a waste of three seasons' worth of scholarships.

Careful. Stating facts such as these will get you a head shake from Clint Eastwood.

You can try to be the best player on the team, but it could be really hard to do this if you know that you won't see the floor for a year.

That is just human nature.

Not saying that they are just going though the motions but it could be hard to keep up the level that the other (seniors) are playing at.

If you aren't there every day you (Barf) most likely can't say who is the best, right?

Of the three new players, I'm least excited about Petteway. I like Pitchford's upside, and just because he couldn't get off the bench at Florida doesn't mean he can't be a very good player for us -- Florida offered him a scholly for a reason (and obviously allowed him to transfer for a reason as well). As for Biggs, he's simply a much-needed playmaker. Guys like him, who can dribble penetrate, make life easier for everyone else. It seems like every basket is street fight for Nebraska when the 3-pointers aren't falling.

I'm not so sure Miles would have brought in Biggs if he had known that Biggs wanted to redshirt this year and that NU would not be getting Agau. There's a reason Miles picked up Peltz about 3 weeks before the season and that is because Biggs surprised Miles when he told him that he still wanted to redshirt even though Agau was not coming to NU, and Miles had to scramble for an extra pg. Miles had to assume that Biggs would see that he would basically be guaranteed a starting spot if he played this year and never thought Biggs would want to redshirt. Miles was a nice guy and honored Biggs wish to redshirt. Biggs would be playing 30 minutes a game this year and would of set himself up to have a huge year next year. Now he is going to have 2 full years off from basketball and no D1 experience.

I wonder if Lee watched him play D?
