A lot of people have been pretty critical of Kenya Hunter's ability to recruit players to Nebraska throughout the short time that he has been here. He has only been at Nebraska for a year and it looks like he could be responsible for 2 of Nebraska's most important recruits in this class. Transfers from 2 blueblood programs Georgetown and Kansas.

If Nebraska is able to land both Ayegba from Georgetown and White from Kansas, then in my opinion, he is more than pulling his own weight. As far as Kenya Hunter recruiting high school players...I believe we will start to see his results in the 2015 and 2016 class.

White would be a HUGE addition to this recruiting class.

Don't forget he brought in the highest rated recruit on an official visit that we had a legit shot with in the Miles era with Robinson. Dividends will pay off in full eventually.

I had heard that Nebraska was at the top of his list and he was expected to commit to NU and then he got the call from LSU to come visit and it just happened that Shaq was at LSU the same weekend that he visited.

Well I heard that Shaq was the head bag man and was bringing his giant Santa sack full of cabbage.

Nobody else recruited Ayegba and White hasn't even visited yet.  Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

With Danny Manning at Wake and Maryland close to his home, I'd think they would be the favorites.  I hope Coach Hunter can prove me wrong.

"Nobody else recruited Ayegba."

According to the Lincoln Journal Star, the foregoing statement is not accurate. Here is a blurb from an article on the subject:

"Ayegba said his relationship with Hunter played a key role in him coming to Nebraska. Indiana, Boston College, Miami and Long Beach State also showed interest in Ayegba as a transfer, he said."

Here is a lengthy Andrew White statement reported in an article on the Wake Forest Rivals board about close-by options for Andrew White:

"Where I live there's great basketball, ACC country. It's a strong conference, so there's a lot of big opportunities here, but I'm not limiting myself to being in the Virginia, North Carolina region. If there's a situation good enough to where I think I'll be able to play and continue doing well in school I will go a lot farther out of Virginia. Kansas was 20 hours away, so I don't mind going far away if there would be a good enough basketball situation for me."

There's a big difference between "showing interest" and actually offering or actively recruiting.  Regardless, Moses put up very little production at Georgetown.

I'm also skeptical about Kenya because several Georgetown fans I know said JT3 more or less "encouraged" him to leave in order to bring in some better recruiting assistants.  Could be sour grapes......but Georgetown has been killing it in recruiting since.  They landed Paul White and LJ Peak this year, and already have 3 Top-75 recruits committed for next year.  Meanwhile our recruiting has been relatively quiet ever since.  The best recruit we got to visit this spring (Cornish) was brought in by Teddy Owens, and he's not even a coach!

I was just hoping with all the talent in the DC area and Kenya's connections there, we'd at least be getting some visits.  Andrew White would be a good start.

Not true regarding Cornish...there was another connection too

Top VC rated remaining transfers based on pre-college stars

Danuel House - JR 6-7 195 Houston

Robert Carter - JR 6-8 245 Georgia Tech

Dominic Artis - JR 6-1 185 Oregon

Brandon Austin - SO 6-6 180 Oregon

Gerard Coleman - RS SR 6-3 173 Gonzaga

Justin Martin - SR 6-6 205 Xavier

Naadir Tharpe - SR 5-11 170 Kansas

Andrew White III - JR 6-6 210 Kansas

I read a week or two ago that there is a 6'3" senior guard transferring from Niagara who also happens to be the leading returning scorer in the nation at 26 ppg. I'm surprised he isn't in this list.

You missed the part I put in bold.  This is based on the players ranking BEFORE college.

Yes, I see that now. The Niagara kid is on the complete list and it appears he is headed to Auburn. Thanks for posting this Kamdy.

Mason would be a huge get in terms of scoring for any team.  Between his probable need for the ball, his desire to make the NBA, and his Dad's involvement I'm not sure how disruptive he'd be to an established team like we have.  I'm sure for a mess like they probably have in Auburn he makes a great band-aid.  I don't see that he's committed to Auburn yet.

If this thread hits 20 pages, does that mean we won't get any more transfers this year?

Norm,

The HHC math guide requires you to take the number of pages and divide by the Prospects Discussed to see when you reach the no commit limit. The formula is:

                                                   # pages /  PD  =  Zero Chance

I got the Auburn piece from the Twitter posts about him. Hit his name on the list and you will see the posts.

Watching clips of Andrew White it was like he really reminds me of someone. Took me forever, but build and style of play = Askia Jones.

Good one.  I really liked that Dana Altman lead K-State team with Jones and Deryl Cunningham.  Enjoyed seeing them both then in the CBA.
