I'm a big rhubar (sp?) pie fan, so if that's available I'm in on the pie. But it's also hard to turn down a beer....

I like strawberry-rhubarb pie... and banana creme pie and ... and... and... ;)

Yes I should make that clear... Must be strawberry-rhubarb pie! Plain rhubarb is a different story...

Lisa is thinking of making a rhubarb pie this weekend Ben. If she does I will save slice.

Haven't had rhubarb since last summer, so yes please save me a slice!!! It would be the second best thing about spring break.

Since we're taking orders, I'll take one, too, please! ;)

Now it really depends on the beer and the pie. A stout would not not work well with say a lemon meringue. I think you would need maybe a Corona for that. Something very light would be needed. Now the much discussed rhubarb would go fine with a Harp, Smithwicks or other Irishy beer. I think I could even have a black and tan with the rhubarb-strawberry. Apple and cherry would be somewhere in the middle. I think your standard Bud light or even a Pabts would work. Or you could go all matchy-matchy and have an Angry Orchard Hard Cider with the apple pie (maybe doesn't qualify in our beer category) Sam Adam's Octoberfest special would be perfect with pumpkin. Key Lime pie and Bud Chelada? The combinations could be infinite.

I may be a "newcomer" to this fine board, but man if my opinion counts for anything I can't stress how superior this is to your standard message board. I know that the Huskers strong second half of a season attracted a lot of "Johnny come latelys" and internet tough guys but it's still the best darn board out there. Hard core Nebrasketball fans talking hoops non stop without a lot of the standard message board drivel. I've been a long time lurker as I like to read a lot of boards from time to time, but this is the only one I ever felt eager to join. I too hope that the mods continue to keep this place as a great place to talk Husker hoops and keep the typical trolls at bay.

I love that this board is varied enough that a pie and beer thread may go on to set a new record in number of posts, while in another thread the serious issue of universities and athletes dividing up the revenue pie goes on.

Great indeed!

Hey speaking of pie, Wife and I went to Buzzard Billy's after the women's regional games last night and as we were walking BB's we went by a place called Pies and Pints. Do they really serve Pie with Beer ?

I liked it a lot and it reminded me of a college guys room. it was clean but the dacore was beer signs and B1G. Food was good so are the prices.

Serious question - what do up and arrows do?? I'm always observing/posting from my phone, so I don't even think I see them.

Just positive and negative reinforcement.  It might tend to modify someone's posting behavior if they keep getting red down arrows every time they post.

Up and down votes on a post are purely arbitrary decisions by each users. That's why there isn't a page highlighting who has the most and least votes...because it's more about being a barometer than a measuring stick.  For most people if you can downvoted on occasion because someone didn't like what you had to say on that thread or if it was a fat finger deal, overall it doesn't really matter.

For me, I use the votes on an account or thread as a sanity check if I'm looking at an account that is having trouble fitting in...I want to make sure it's not just me.
