Perhaps the reason their coach was dismissed is because of recruiting players like Atewe.  In other words, he didn't make a bad decision; he was the bad decision.

He could be poor at developing players.  Atewe was a bit of a project with crazy athleticism...is it a surprise he's struggling? 

 

Maybe he transfers here.....which is why you don't burn bridges on the guys you don't land.

Seems like a good time to call and see what's up.

Matt Painter seems to be getting some mention as a possible hire for Mizzou.  I could see that happening.

Painter was very close to taking the Missouri job when Anderson left.

I'd think Missouri could do much better than Painter. Purdue has become a train wreck in the past couple of years. Not sure how an AD could sell that to a fanbase.

In less than five years, Frank Haith's coaching pedigree has gone from ACC to Big 12 (1-yr) to SEC and, now, to Conf. USA... not once having been fired. That's quite a trip down the career ladder!
