ajb5856 Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 YEAH RIGHT! I know some of us may or may not have wanted Iowa to lose, but it happened, and nobody in their right mind can be sad about Iowa losing. Ever. I'm only 10% serious here, but is Iowa on the bubble yet? This is how you back out of shoe-in 5- or 6-seed status and start to worry. This is how narrow the margin is from decent seed to the fringe of the tournament and how fluid the tournament picture is this time of year. I haven't looked up Iowa but they are 19-8 (8-6) now with RPI of 31 and maybe just 2 top 25 wins. Still safely IN, but lose a couple more and it gets HAIRY! WE NEED TO KEEP WINNING! Let's go forward! roscoe, Norm Peterson and hhcmatt 3 Quote
AuroranHusker Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 Nebraska is now tied with Iowa for 5th place, and only 1 game out of 3rd (Wisconsin, 9-5). WIsky down to Hoosiers, so it could be four-way tie for 3rd at the end of the night! With only four more games to go, it's about to get real!! Quote
Blindcheck Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 Iowa could lose at Indiana this week and still got to msu. Finish at home against Illinois....that game could be huge...lose and they could be in trouble.... Also have Purdue at home... Quote
Norm Peterson Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 This probably drops us behind Minnesota, though, until we beat Wisconsin. Quote

Huskerpapa Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 Maybe I am alone in my feeling, but I could care less about any other team winning or losing...I only care about one team, and that is UNL...and as long as we keep winning, we will be okay. It is good to control ones own destiny...and we do. Quote

The Coach Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 I'm not sure if Minnesota winning was good for us or not.....but a bunch of other bubble teams have lost tonight - Clemson, Dayton, and St. John's - and looks like Mizzou is about to go down as well. Quote

It is good to control ones own destiny...and we do. You're definitely not alone in you're thinking. I didn't care one way or the other what Iowa did. I wasn't on pins and needles rooting for them to lose. Whether they won or lost, we still controlled our own destiny by winning the games UNL plays. But our team didn't play tonight so I had a little B1G action on in the background, and when the final buzzer sounded, the final score made me smile. Quote
kldm64 Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 This shit is about to get real. What an unbelievable ride by NU. Started about at the bottom and now we're here..... I've been a season ticket holder and have never been this excited. I love this program!!! Quote
ajb5856 Posted February 28, 2014 Author Report Posted February 28, 2014 Still don't feel bad for them. Have they slid all the way back to the bubble yet? Quote
hhcmatt Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 Trying to lock up a 10 seed? Also, is Indiana more or less dangerous next Wednesday if they can knock off Ohio St? Quote
ajb5856 Posted February 28, 2014 Author Report Posted February 28, 2014 Trying to lock up a 10 seed? Also, is Indiana more or less dangerous next Wednesday if they can knock off Ohio St? They are really going backwards. I think Indiana will be tough no matter what they do prior to playing us. Quote
Omaha Nebrasketballer Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 4th place and a first round bye is still attainable for the Huskers! Finish 3-0 (no easy task) and I think we're 4th and automatically in the big dance. Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 I am as sad as the Hawkeye fans are about our lose last night. Quote
royalfan Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 Trying to lock up a 10 seed? Also, is Indiana more or less dangerous next Wednesday if they can knock off Ohio St? Dangerous either way, but more dangerous if they keep rolling. Senior night for Sheehey, who is playing better lately. It is going to be tough either way. One things to go on road when you have more talent and a variety of ways to score. This will be an entirely different deal than that though. Quote

AuroranHusker Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 Iowa hadn't lost back-to-back all year, and now the Hawkeyes have lost back-to-back-to-back. That's FRAN-tastic! Silverbacked1 and Jadler 2 Quote
