Guys, this a special time to be a Husker Hoops fan. Right now, I could care less about what the future of Nebrasketball holds (although it looks awfully bright). I want to enjoy the now. You never know what things can happen to a team (injuries, NBA draft, etc.). Right now we have a team that makes us proud to be fans, and I hope everyone is thoroughly enjoying the ride. We have NCAA bubble talk, B1G POY talk. That doesn't happen every year, even at the historically rich schools (Indiana). So let's all enjoy the ride, support the team, and watch with pride. I'm already making travel arrangements to whichever NCAA Regional site we are selected to, but if its a home game in the NIT then I will be cheering loud at PBA. I guess what I'm trying to say that this season shouldn't be looked at as NCAA Tourney or bust. Regardless of how this season ends, I'm proud to be a Nebrasketball fan (especially one living in the middle of ISU and Iowa tourney teams)

Agreed...while it will be dissapointing if we fail to make the NCAA tourny but at the start of the year and a month ago I don't think anyone thought we would be in this position right now.  I thought the NIT would be a reach this year and that if we made the NIT it would be a great step forward.  Now, we have a shot at the big dance and if not...we should have a few home games for the NIT to build off of.  I do think it's a sign of things to come though, we are a piece or two away from being a very very good team.  The remainder of the year...and next year are going to be exciting times for the Big Red

But now I am nervous Petteway might turn pro!

I had a similar thought yesterday... but, you know, if TP does I have faith that Miles & Co. will recruit the next star-in-waiting! It's a great feeling knowing that NU is in good hands either way.

I'm not quite sure about that. Judging by his character, I think he truly feels he can do so much more for the program and himself after this season.

Unless he's a lock for the lottery/first round, it would seem doubtful he goes.  I'm not sure he's there yet.

I'm also planning on going to the NCAA tournament if we should make it. Will have a group of about 4. Do you have any suggestions on what we should do ahead of time or do we just wait until after selection show. Would you go through the University or not? Just really have no idea on what to do so any suggestions would be great.

I plan on going through the University. Have followed on StubHub the prices for the "Strip of tickets" which is essentially all sessions. Would much rather be in Nebraska's section than somewhere random in the arena. Been to other tournament sites like this and it seems much more fun to sit around people of your kind.

If we win another game or 2, i would suggest making a separate topic with this information so people have an idea where they could be traveling to. also, how well do you think our fans would travel to an opening round game?

Better hope youre a big donor because the ticket demands will be outrageous.

say we somehow ended up in the spokane, WA or buffalo, ny region. how many husker fans would travel there?

A fan base starving for a chance at the dance, NU will sell out, and sell out fast on their allotment.  From what I've seen the best odds to get ticket allotments is going through the small schools that may have to travel a bunch.  For example I went through Portland State when they played in Omaha in 2008 because they couldnt sell theirs out.  They were selling to the other teams in the regional.

I am loving what is going on right now. Most fun I've had with my pants on in a long time. :)

wait you guys wear pants during the game? :D

YEAH they kind of want the Vault to have a bit of class. ;)

Oh...you didn't get tickets in the "pants optional" section, then?

Things should be clear as mud by the end of March 5th.

I remember the days when you walked into an arena and they asked "Pants? Or no pants?" And then sometimes, even when you were sitting in the 'no pants' section, you could still get second-hand pants from the other section. Times are changing, 49r.

You could always pick up a pair of pants at the concession stand,...they kept 'em right there next to the smokes!

You'd say, "Gimme a pair of knickerbockers, see, and why don't you go ahead and throw in a pack of Luckys while you're at it, boy!"

And the little kid with the coal-stained cheeks would hand you your pants and cigarettes and say "That'll be a nickel, mister!"

Boy, those were the days!
