Tim this is where you earn your money an show us Nebraska basketball is truly growing. Much state overlooked us a bit today and we executed a great game plan and wanted it more.

How will you keep this team focused. Replay the final two minutes at state college and have this team ready. We can't have a letdown and penn state can win on the road. This would be an absolute dagger of a loss. We must be ready to go and an early 6pm tip could be a late arriving crowd. Team needs to be ready.

Why am I so worried about this damn game Thursday?

I think there is plenty to be worried about.  It's going to be easy for a young, sophomore-dominated team to get a little punch drunk with all the accolades they will receive from the national press and from students on campus this week.  We're going to learn a little more about this team's maturity level.

I don't know what happened last week that half the student section didn't fill in during the Illinois game...but will it be more full now?

If not can some of us old guys from up top fill in?

We sit in 311, and we were moved down to 112 right behind the hoop.  LOTS of open seats.  I mean, well over one hundred.  Maybe 200.  I don't care who sits down there as long as they are loud.

Also do the students not wear the same shirt anymore?  The costumes, etc, were funny at the start of the season, but....

Wednesday/Thursday nights are popular nights for exams at UNL. Lots of exams are scheduled around the 6pm/7pm time and they last 2 hours

who down votes this post? I mean, do you down vote the tv guide when it tells you what's on? gave you a compensation up arrow. you should now appear "normal".

Barfknecht wrote an above average column this morning, credit to him.

Miles has earned his share of kudos in his year and a half at Nebraska.

But I've heard enough of these from master baloney-spreaders to sense the remarks about Miles are far more respectful than coachspeak, especially after five wins in the past six games.

That brings us to an elephant in the room we'll address once and no more.

Nebraska's 5-1 run has come since a “roster adjustment” occurred on Jan. 26. Miles cut me off before I could finish the question about it, with no comment. Notice since that day, however, that the purpose became one, the buy-in became complete, the roles became defined and favorable results began to follow.

Also notice a couple of the comments and who they're from at the bottom.

Be cautious about Penn St.  Coach Chambers is getting a lot out of his team and they have good guards.  When you have good guards you always have a chance.  That being said, I hope the Huskers start quick and leave no doubt.  Rip em a new one!

Penn State has road wins at OSU and Indiana.  They have already beaten us.

They are not anywhere close to a gimme.  We need to figure out how to limit the damage Frazier can do.

I'm more concerned about Newbill.  But the nice thing is that this is not a very good shooting PSU team.  They have only 1 guy shooting better than 34% from three and he only scores 3 pts/game.

Penn State is one of the worst 3-pt shooting teams in the league.  They also are the worst defensive team in the league and give up the most defensive rebounds in the league.

Their rebounding margin is next to last in the league, ahead of only Northwestern.  They are second to last in assists, ahead of only Illinois.  They are dead last in steals.

So, they're not going to take it away a lot and they might give up extra possessions on offensive rebounds.  And it's no surprise that they are 11th in the league right now.

This is a team we should beat handily.  As long as we don't have one of those dreaded let downs after a big win.  But given how focused these guys apparently are, I'm thinking we're determined to win and a let down isn't going to be an issue.

I am a little surprised by your sentiment Norm.  I guess you think we have "arrived?"

We are only 2 wins better than PSU right now if we lose to them than they hold the tiebreaker; it is not inconceivable that they could get a better B1G tourney seed than us.
