- Lob to open the game. Awesome. Yeesh.

- ...and a Pitchford 3 to open the game. Nothing if not predictable.

- 8-0 deficit to start. Can’t keep doing that. Too many outside jumpers, not enough going to the rim.

- 13-3, 16-7, 28-12, 45-15, 75-34,

- 2 turnovers for Petteway before the first media timeout.

- 7 points from Shields is a good sign.

- So many open jumpers…

- First half was Creighton-esque ugly.

Not much to say about that one, but it was cool to see Kurkowski throw it down. See if they can pick up the pieces on Saturday. I do think that game is winnable.

Michigan scored something like 5 points the last 12+ minutes.

We could have lost 100-50 easily.

This final score was much closer than the actual game.

I hope the kids are as embarrassed as I am about this game.

I am not in the camp that is critical of Tai.  Sorry, he shows glimpses of being pretty special.  I think these coaches can really form him into something special...just my very humble opinion.

That was by far the worst effort I have seen this year (note: I didn't watch the OSU road game) We took dumb shots, again and again and again. Miles' plan of letting them play through this on the road has to stop. It's stupid. This team is young and needs to be reminded to guard the other team, or attack the rim.

We need to find a capable PG in the worst way just in case Webster fails to make substantial gains in the offseason. Defensively, that's about as bad of a game as I've seen in college bball this year.

Tai will be fine. He is an 18 year old who was over hyped by some people.

We will, still have him for 4 years and we will be sad when he leaves.

Stauskas had 8 assists.  The Huskers had 7.

Game wasn't really on the line, but Hawkins hit some 3s.  We might need that going forward.

Wouldn't have changed a whole lot but those two earlier charges were sort of garbage.

Good to see Shields knocking down some buckets.  Will need that on Saturday as well.

Leslie racked up not a whole lot in 13 minutes.

You can't just rack up 35 points in a game and not have people notice.  Michigan did a good job of shutting down Petteway.  He had to earn those 5 points.  What a block though!

would be nice to have a juco all american to ease webster's transition into the college game.

To be fair: Mythagain played lights-out, and even if NU had played their best game possible, it still would have been a 25-point loss. UM lost their last game & only scored 52 at Indiana, and tonight they could have had 100 if they'd tried the last 10-min. Move on to NW, and hopefully the team learns to compete better every single possession. The other team isn't going to "give" you anything!!

I would gave like to see benching the main players for four minutes and run out the walkons.

Embarrass the starters a little bit, they never improved shot selection or upped their defensive intensity.

You are down 30+ put in 5 guys that bust their butt in practice and see if they can provide. Some energy

That's a pet peeve of mine as well. With the game obviously a lost cause, I think you either play your freshmen or your deepest reserves. There was nothing to gain by playing our starters (outside of Tai).

If you want to play your starters to the end...fine, but you have to still enforce your fundamentals and game plans.

Including shot selection and defensive intensity.

Otherwise, let the managers and walkons play, if you are just going to let guys jack up shots...heck I am available if all you need is a shooter with no conscience and a guy who is two seconds too late on defense.

I agree with most on here.  I thought for the first time all year our effort was not good at all.  I know the CU and OSU game (1st game) were bad score wise, but we at least fought in those games for the most part.  Last night we looked a step slow and our shot selection wasn't very good.

As somebody else pointed out though....we weren't beating Michigan tonight.  They hit, what, 9 of their first 13 3 pointers?  They were extremely hot early, we were cold, and it just snow balled big time on us.  I would have definitely liked to see some fire though from our guys.

I really hope we play well Saturday and get a win.  Come home and get some momentum going.  Realistically we all knew this would be a tough game.  Gotta just erase this one from the memory, move on and hopefully get some wins starting Saturday.

Games like this are going to happen.  Where the energy is just bad, the other team is rolling and it just looks awful.  We are better than we played last night.  Let's see how we respond on Saturday.  I will be curious.

Excellent postmortem from mgoblog today:  http://mgoblog.com/content/nebraska-bullets

So that's what it's like when the other team is like "take my threes, please."Generally, basketball teams playing Michigan make it a huge priority to limit open three point attempts. This is because Michigan shoots a lot of them (almost 40% of their FGAs) and is quite good at knocking them down—25th nationally. Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't, but everyone really tries to limit Michigan from long range.

For whatever reason, Increasingly Dangerous (At Least At Home) Nebraska™ decided against that. Michigan launched a whopping 31 threes—60% of their shots—and until things got sloppy late just about every one was a great look. Some of this was transition hurting Nebraska's ability to contest, and some of it was what looked like an ill-advised reaction to Michigan's pick and roll game where Nebraska bigs would hedge super-aggressively, forcing wing defenders to dip their toes into the paint to compensate. The ensuing passes beat Nebraska's rotation on almost every possession, and the threes rained in.
