From Barfknecht's article:

The actual average attendance through 11 games is 13,410. That would be a school record. The current mark is 13,357 in 1992-93.

The announced attendance of 15,239, which should hold steady, likely will put Nebraska in the top 15 in national attendance when final numbers come out in mid-March. For 2013, UNLV was 14th at 15,196 and Marquette 15th at 15,033.

Announced attendance now is tickets sold I believe, actual attendance is butts in the seats.

Also plenty of praise for NU's program from other coaches/national reporters: More in the article

Not that I want to mention it, but what the heck, Nebraska (when you include Creighton and UNO) is quite the basketball State.

its on the come. Last weekend there were over 37000 people who went to D1 games in our state. Opening night this year ,both venues ( c link, bank) were both sold out with the same tipoff time. You can not fault the fan bases of any team and I think the more of a big deal it becomes the better all 3 programs get.

Even Dickie V and Seth Davis have made mention of that on more than one occasion.  And the 3 Div. I Nebraska teams have defeated Ohio State, Minnesota, Indiana, Villanova, Georgetown & UNLV (which are among a bunch of teams that have been title contenders or champions in their history).  It is a bit of hoops renaissance for "The Good Life"!

UNO didn't beat UNLV, but you can replace them with Marquette or Butler if you'd like.

Butler & Marquette have had final 4 runs; If I recall correctly, UNO did beat a team from Nevada, but they narrowly lost to UNLV @Vegas... and also barely lost @Iowa. My apologies, next time I'll try not to post from memory (which must be fading a bit).

I don't really want to see them expand until it's necessary. The 300s are already empty enough most games.

Yeah but the seats they would add wouldn't be in the 300s.

Really? When they expand won't they just make the 2nd and 3rd decks wrap around and connect to make a continuous ring?

Yes, that's most likely how it'd be done if it were to be expanded...

Marquette has a national championship, Butler played in two Championship games.

There are some missing 100 level seats I thought.  But 200 level seats are better than 300 level seats.

I don't actually think we should expand.

And if we do it should be temporary bleachers.

The possible future expansion would be to expand the upper bowl all the way around, exactly the same as what they did to CenturyLink in Omaha, which got an additional 1,500 seats there.  I took a tour during construction of PBA with an engineering group and they explained it during that tour.  PBA was built with that plan in mind if the demand warrants it.

Clearly, they would wait until the wait list for season tickets gets bigger than the number of extra seats they would add with an expansion.

Don't know how far away that would be, if ever.  I suppose it depends on how much success the team has in the coming years.
