  1. Sorry for being late to the party here, congrats on the win and best of luck the rest of the way.
  2. CU struggled in the second half against the Baylor 1-3-1 which is a bit different in part because of the length they throw on the floor. Coach Mac had said they prepared for the Huskers to go 1-3-1 and practiced it all week. He said the zone you all run is similar to Xavier's so there was familiarity. I hadn't been able to watch much Husker Hoops this year and I came away extremely impressed with your team. So many talent upgrades across the lineup. Glynn Watson is the absolute real deal. Definitely didn't have the deer in the headlight look like in year's past. Seems like you are some solid post play away from being top half of the B1G. Best of luck the rest of the way!
  3. My question is outside of Bruce Chubbick Sr and certain media, are the people directly involved with this truly upset/angered at Miles for this or more just disappointed? Is Arop himself pissed off at Miles or is he more upset/disappointed with the circumstances? They're pissed. Really pissed. The Omaha AAU community is pissed, Chubick and HS coaches are pissed and the Sudanese community is really pissed. How often do you think Chauncy Billips goes on local talk shows? As Benning said yesterday (and his kid is in the AAU scene, so he would know), "Miles may never recover (in terms of recruiting) from the Omaha metro over this." Chubick, who obviously has long ties to the Nebraska program, said all "bridges have been burned" as far as he is concerned. Ok so they're pissed. Pissed off an entire city which may produce a legit P5 talent once a decade. I think at this point Miles realizes he has to make it without Omaha or not make it at all. Arop wasn't some program changer that was going to carry us over the top. I'm not sure Miles cares or can afford to care that he pissed off the Omaha bball scene. His staffs recruiting has made major headway in other much more talent rich cities such as Chicago. A perceived bad PR move in Bluejayland isn't going to lose him the job, but not winning will. Bottom line, Arop being on the squad next year wasn't going to help him win but another stud recruit may. There are two kids from Omaha at Creighton and one playing at Georgetown with a fourth currently playing at Papio and a fifth playing at Boystown.
  4. Its been two years... Maybe some day we'll be able to run some smack talk after actually beating you guys. I mean, sure, the Jays haven't been as good as they were when Doug was there, but let's not pretend they've been on a 10 year drought since he graduated. A lot changed and you'd expect a little catch up needing to happen. A fourth seed in the NIT is a nice step in the right direction and it would appear they are poised to continue to improve. Note: This isn't intended for you Norm, I know you are smart enough to get it.
  5. You mean, like, last season, right? I think you are going to get that one back this year. You're insane. Creighton owns us (and Miles) and Mac is our (and Miles') daddy. Bluejays roll again by at least 15. You've done plenty to ingratiate yourself over here, no need to pander to us this week. Not pandering, Jays are very flawed. Shields is going to score a lot of points.
  6. I don't think twitter works like this Norm.
  7. You mean, like, last season, right? I think you are going to get that one back this year.
  8. Good luck on Wednesday folks. I'm not super confident, but stranger things have happened.
  9. The rankings don't factor in transfers either so it can skew things a bit when you are counting on major contributions from a guy like Andrew White.
  10. It is interesting to see how Miles is allocating minutes during these games.
  11. Hey Norm, he updated his list... If Creighton wins that recruiting battle over those schools, I'd willingly go to a Creighton game with you! Say on this upcoming December 9th. If you can find me, I'll buy you a beer!
  12. yeah how is that Creighton Football team going to do this year? I heard they are probably pre season ranked 129 out of 128 division 1 teams. Lame Probably...but it's as lame as the Creighton fans that root for Husker football and then turn their backs on husker nation for everything else. I've given up trying to figure out/justify those folks, you like what you like.

  14. Did Harriman recruit McVeigh and Pinder?
  15. Jays were in the top 10 as well. Says a lot for the fans in this state that they'd remain so loyal in such a down year. Here's to full stadiums and successful seasons!
  16. Happy 100th post, Mose. Yes, happy happy. I was hoping to get to 15,000 before you got to 100, but alas I couldn't think of enough worthless things to say. Don't give up Norm, you'll hit 15,000 before I hit 150. Good luck in the offseason!
  17. This poor guy seems pretty lost.
  18. Jays have a foreign trip this year just like your boys. Hoping that helps the team mesh a bit and get the season rolling right from the start.
  19. Good explanation. Doc's recruiting was abysmal. Always chasing high risk guys, rarely finding ones who would stay for four years. Collier at least left Maric behind. Doc left zip. Miles is building the roster the right way. Call last year a fluke or whatever, but it allowed him to sell the program to our best recruiting class in who knows how many years. Give him time. Was Shields a Doc recruit or did Miles get him?
