Seriously, no black uniform thread?

I figured that'd be a hot topic.  We've been clamoring for them for YEARS and then out of nowhere they bust them out...and no thread for it?  C'mon guys.  We're slipping.  I liked 'em.  Probably not how I would have designed the, but I thought they were pretty good for the most part.

I kinda liked that they suprised everyone with them like that.  If they'd played well or even won, it would have been genius.

Love the idea, but like you wasn't a huge fan of the design.  I really hope they don't scrap it because we lost.

Didn't we wear black as our standard road jerseys in the late 90s?

Which only renews my question, what's the record? I remember some disappointment in the road blacks in the early 90s.

Not sure- i really don't believe that the jersey color has an impact on W/L record

 

I do know for a fact, however, that we've lost a lot of games wearing red and/or white, too.

Hell we are going to become a gimmick school (ala okie lite and Oregon) when it comes to uniforms, lets go full cammo, and have a new uniform for every game!

I remember the 2001 team wearing them quite a bit.  I think it was that team...

 

They brought 'em back last year, too.  Not sure how much they wore them, though.

Other than my initial reaction that I thought, "hey new uni's...cool" --- they became an after-thought to how poorly we played in them.  I really do not care about the uni's.  I just want great performance.  So the uni's receive a passing grade, our play did not.

I loved them. Not thee biggest fan of the Huskers font but that is the new branding font so have to expect that.

I'm cool with the new black unis.  I don't think one game will define them.

I don't think uniforms make the difference for the positive or negative. My point is really, are we about winning or fashion? Win games and you can wear whatever you want.

Colors are Scarlet and Cream.  I don't read black in there anywhere.  Lose the black uniforms.  (of course I'm an old codger!)

I dislike black alternative uniforms unless black is an official color of the school.  

 

I was not a fan of when Northwestern wears all black for some football or basketball games, especially when it was "home" blacks against Michigan State 2 years ago (despite the fact that we won!)

Uni was all right, unfortunately the product NU put on the floor that evening was not all right... I actually preferred the grey uni look that CU had that night.

If the players like them who cares?  I think they did.  We should start test driving alternates by playing a cupcake in them, though, just to make sure they don't have any bad luck.
