TheKamdyMan Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 New offer that has ties to Nebraska. His dad played professionally with Harriman down under. He's blowing up with teams like Michigan and Louisville on him but Nebraska has a chance. Moving to US for senior year at national power Findlay prep. Should be a highly rated recruit soon. hhcmatt and Nebrasketballer 2 Quote

seaofred92 Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 whatre the odds of seriously landing this kid? he seriously looks like the next durant Quote
berlinblackshirts Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 Wow. Very smooth Shot and very athletic. That would be a huge get. Very Good Looking Player. Quote
ajb5856 Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 So hopefully Fran knows talent like we think he knows talent because of all the great things he's said about Tai. But he said this about Bolden just a week ago. Kinda strange. I mean, I took one look at his film and immediately thought big time player. Mid major? Really? @franfraschilla: Mid-major now, hi major potential. Needs strength/maturity RT @TroyJr_67: @Jhawk0505 Fran what can you tell me about Jonah Bolden's aussie What did Fran mean by this? Is it just simply that he's a mid major prospect as of 8/4 but by the next week he'll be racking up offers from powerhouses? Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted August 12, 2013 Author Report Posted August 12, 2013 Guys he's a good player but to say he's a 5 star talent and the next Durant? Come on now. The guy was only the third best player on his Adidas nations team. 5 stars and the next Durant aren't the third best player on any team except the All-NBA team maybe. Judging him compared to other kids in this class he is probably a top 60 kid and if he comes over and does well could get inside the top 40. Again he's good but let's not blow this out of proportions. Quote
Nebrasketballer Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 I would take him...in a second. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zabwne0LItI +1. Jonah Bolden + Leon Gilmore + Jacob Hammond in the 2014 class would be a home run class for Nebraska. Would also address Nebraska's greatest immediate needs at the Forward/Center positions and would be a springboard for the 2015 class. Quote
Nebrasketballer Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 More info. Wow. 7'2" wingspan along with his athleticism could be a very dangerous combination... Would love to see Nebraska land him. Quote

FredsSlacks Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 his dad played basketball with glen rice in high school. I think that is the michigan connection. Quote
ajb5856 Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 I read the family lived in Michigan and moved down under when Jonah was young. Quote

Just that he's skilled and has the potential to develop into a player at the top level but he's not there yet. Quote
ajb5856 Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 But Fran basically said that he's a mid major guy right now with the potential to develop into a high major target. That was said only one week ago and now Bolden has offers from top programs. Somebody saw something more in Bolden than Fran did. It's possible that he hasn't really seen him at yet, but the international game, its kinda his thing. Quote
Cookie Belcher Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 Would love to land him, but I think he is the kind of guy who is out of our league right now. Think he is going to blow up now that he is at Findlay. If we do manage to be in it with him it would be huge, but when I see Louisville and Michigan in and expect more of the elite programs to come after him now that he is stateside, he will become a pipedream IMO Quote

Well, Hammond just committed today, so now we just need Gilmore and Bolden to commit for the Nebrasketball trifecta of 2014! Quote
Cookie Belcher Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 http://247sports.com/Season/2014-Basketball/RecruitRankings?InstitutionGroup=HighSchool Bolden is already up to #24 overall (and a 5 star) in the new 247 rankings. He hasn't even started his season with Findlay yet. As I said, this guy is going to blow up and have all of the elite basketball programs after him. This is why I said I believe he is out of our league. If we get a visit out of him I would be pumped, but I doubt it will happen. Have to hope the connection between his dad and Harriman is huge. I just don't see him in the cards for us when he will basically have his pick of schools across the country. Quote

We were somehow Tai's first choice before he even visited campus, so it's possible Harriman could pull off the same thing with Bolden. Quote
AuroranHusker Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 I noticed some resemblance to a poor man's Kevin Durant in Bolden's game. He's be a good get for NU, no doubt about that. Quote
