I don’t disagree with you. I think we can get to the point where 5 out of every 10 years IS the expectation. But will still acknowledge that is a lofty expectation for Nebraska and many other programs.
Guess I might be in the minority, but I do believe the program is in a good spot right now and the level of play the last three years can be sustained and improved upon. I haven’t felt that way about the program since the 90s. If next season is a failure, my feelings will certainly change.

I agree about the last 3 years.  Next year is a make or break year in my opinion.  It should be for gods sake.  Sip is right that everyone is just ok that this program is mediocre.  People are gonna show up, and unless they dont like Iowa, even with Frans more success, there should be a change.  Fans deserve more for what they have given over the past 30 years

I think the value of non big dance, post season tournaments are for young teams and new coaches. We have an established coaching staff and our 25/26 nucleus will be out of the portal. I think the time spent on this tournament would be better served hosting potential portal targets.

In that regards doesn't playing in the Crown 2 weeks later seem better than the NIT because we are ready to work the portal?

This seems a bit cryptic.  Word on the street is that every big 10 team besides Nebraska and presumably Indiana and Ohio State have opted out.  If Indiana can opt out, I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

Not sure if it's cryptic or just bad organization because there's two competing tournaments they're dealing with.

Then again, NIT just announced their field and we're not in it.

Could be just like spring training when they have split squads!!

I'm sorry, but these postseason bids are getting ridiculous. I also wish the CBC could sort things out the day-of, but not seeming like it.

Robin just reported it appears Ohio St and Penn St opting out of the crown as well. If the crown does end up finding enough teams, it might be a sad field…

Running tally...

Ohio State, Penn State, Northwestern, Indiana opted out.

NCAA: Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Oregon, Purdue, UCLA, Wisconsin.

Remaining: Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Rutgers, USC, Washington

Sounds like the Crown could be the Nebraska home-loss revenge tour.

Gotta love that range. WV who should have been in the tournament. Colorado who won 3 conference games.

How many teams in this bracket would have more Q1 wins than North Carolina? Lol

Serious question!

Maybe HHC can get a team together to play in the crown.  I call point guard!

I was a good manger in H.S. So I got dibs on that spot.
