What the?  How about that?  I quit watching with 15 minutes to go when Nebraska called a timeout.  I did check at one point and saw we had cut it to 8 with 11 minutes to go.  Then I knew we had a chance, but decided not to check again until the game would be over.  Must have worked.

The team is showing some grit the past two games.  Go get the Penn State game.

P.S.    Maybe just a pet peeve of mine - but would be "nice" if board members could try to remember he spells his name Brice - not Bryce :)

I know they play different positions on the court, but Bryce Williams' disposition really reminds me of Tyrone Lue. Cold as ice, baby!

A loss Wednesday would be very disappointing given the slide penn state is on and they might not win another this season

Yeah. PSU is at the bottom of the league rn. That's winnable. Michigan is due for a road loss. That's winnable. We should beat Minnesota going away. And the Iowa game is a revenge match.

We need 3 more to get to 20 overall. Three more also gets us to 10 conference wins. I think we have 4 winnable contests in our last 5 games. Be fun to run the tables, though.

Notes from UNL

*-Nebraska overcame a 20-point deficit, its largest comeback since joining the Big Ten (19 on two occasions, most recently against Wisconsin last season). Nebraska trailed 41-21 with 19:15 left.
*- It matches the largest comeback by Nebraska since the 1996-97 season (20, 2x, most recently against USC in 2010-11).
*- It is Nebraska’s second straight double-digit road comeback (also at Washington)
*-Prior to today, Nebraska’s largest road comeback was 13 points on two occasions (at Washington on Feb. 5 and at Maryland on Jan. 1, 2017).
*-Sunday’s win was NU’s first win in Evanston since 2014, as NU had lost its last six at Welsh-Ryan Arena. NU won a road game at Northwestern in 2018, but it was in Rosemont.
*-Nebraska improved to 5-5 in road games this year and is 7-6 away from home this season.  NU has now won three straight conference road games for the first time since the 2021-22 season.

*-Nebraska picks up its sixth Quad 1 of the season and is now 6-7 in Quad 1 games this season
*-Brice Williams reached double figures for the 24th time in 26 games with a team-high 21 points. He now has six straight 20-point games, the longest streak by a Husker since Tyronn Lue in 1997-98.
*-Juwan Gary finished with 17 points, his sixth straight double-figure effort
*-Nebraska shot 61 percent in the second half after shooting just 27 percent in the opening 20 minutes.
*-Nebraska held Northwestern to 36 percent shooting, as Nebraska improves to 11-1 when holding an opponent under 40 percent shooting.
*-Braxton Meah came off the bench with 10 points and had season bests in both rebounds (seven) and blocks (two). Meah’s 10-point effort was his first double-figure effort since Nov. 27 and just the second of the season. It marked NU’s 24th double-figure effort from a Husker reserve. His miss in the second half was his first since Dec. 30, as he had made his last 12 field goal attempts
*-Nebraska’s 11-0- second half run was its 18th double-figure run of the season

Really gutsy comeback performance after everything went wrong in the second half.

Brice and Juwan were struggling and frustrated - but they kept their heads in the game and found the determination to lead the comeback.   Connor also really looked lost but found a way to contribute positively in the 2nd half.   Meah was also a big positive at a key time given it may have been Morgan's worst Husker game.

We needed this win.   If we can get another one on the road Wednesday people will again start talking about seeding and not about bubbles.   That said - one game at a time needs to be the mantra for the team.

P.S.    Maybe just a pet peeve of mine - but would be "nice" if board members could try to remember he spells his name Brice - not Bryce :)

I swear that I saw he spelled it with a y.  I will do it the correct wai from now on.😉

Ok...I was photographing another sports event so just heard the first 10 minutes.  Do I bother going back to watch the game? Do I watch both halves or just the second?

Yeah, watch the second half starting at about the 16 minute mark.

I might be the biggest meah hater on the board and he’s more than earned whatever he got for NIL these last two games….outside of Williams and Gary he’s the reason we won the game today, played probably 25+ minutes too

Meah played 22:38. He made 4-5 from the field & 2-3 on FTs for 10 points to go with 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. And he must have altered a handful of others as Northwestern struggled to score at the rim, i.e. they were 4-17 on layups.

That’s the thing that won’t show up on the stat sheet, how many altered and affected shots Braxton causes, shoot, even giving guys second thoughts about driving to the rim too deep because he’s waiting down low. It’s like having a stud cornerback who teams don’t throw to often - I think he brings a lot of value. I also think the lob from the lick and roll is there a lot more than we look for it. Feel like he should have a ton of confidence heading to happy Valley

If you watch both you’ll appreciate the second half even more

My son missed it entirely, so I went back & watched the whole game again with him. That was even more fun, he had no idea what was about to happen & I didn't spoil for him, either. What an incredible comeback that was, from shooting 27% & only scoring 21 in the 1st half to shooting 61% & scoring 47 in the 2nd half (a la Nebraska at UW in the Huskers previous road game)!!

The funny thing is that if you just look at the box score it went exactly like I thought it would go when I did my writeup except for Nebraska winning the turnover margin. NW took 27 more shots than Nebraska thanks to owning the boards. NW had a 41% eFG% while Nebraska had 51.1%. We took 20 more FT attempts.  The actually game though.....

Good call on the writeup. Back-to-back road wins coming back from being down 13 and 20, respectively. I have a hard time believing that that had ever happened for the Huskers.
