Alison Krauss spent her formative years in Champaign and won the Illinois state fiddling championship at age 10.

I have picked her rendition of “I’ll Fly Away” to be played at my funeral.  I think her voice sounds like the ringing of a bell it is perfect to me.

If you’ve been around Lincoln long enough you’ll know they played an East High Keg Party after a Pershing gig back in the 70’s. Facts

HB's favorite band of all-time.   Gary Richrath is flat out nasty on that song.

February 3, 1959 was a sad, sad day.  65 years ago. Wow! Imagine what could have been...

As far as the game tomorrow evening, "All of my life, I've been a-waiting.  Tonight they'll be no hesitating".  Oh, Boy!  GBR!

The Pride of Urbana IL, was lucky enough to catch them at Mabel’s.

Saw them blow up the PA system opening for Swervedriver in 1992.

I really love her voice.  Down the the River to Pray is one of my favorites of hers.  We could probably use a few prayers heading into this one as well:)

Champaign reminds me of my ex, whoo went there for her doctorate.

I have a special hatred of Illinois and CHampaign in spite of the fact that it was Adrian Belew's stomping grounds, I think. If so, Belew gives you guys lots of video choices!!!

I'm assuming you'll crack open a bottle of cheap champaign after the Husker victory in honor of your ex.  🙂
