We have much respect to earn.  I don’t see any powerhouse teams.  If we gel and play well we should be able to be competitive with most of the B1G.

loads of talent, but they don’t have a point guard so probably not. 4th or 5th seems more likely

Yeah, I fail to see how anyone could be surprised by the prediction.  We have more bottom four finishes than any other team in the Big Ten since we joined.

Terrance Shannon played PG for then last year and is back this year.

Other than Purdue, we should be able to play with any of the other teams listed. I'm sort of surprised Tominaga's return did not seem to affect Rothstein's rating at all. Sort of like ignoring Edey's return affecting the Boilermaker's rank.

If he is projecting CJ to be a starter, I don't put a lot of stock in his evaluation.

They bring back all their starters except for Matthew Mayer but also bring in 3 transfers.  #3 to start seems right.

CJ started 24 games last year. It makes at least as much sense to project him as a starter as it does a guy whom none of us have seen play in person.

Not to mention they seemed to underperform a year ago.  When they played great and the ball was hopping(like against us) they were a big problem.  They should be right up in the mix imo.

Illinois always has an excellent team with superb athletes . . . but it folds in the NCAA tournament.

Nebraska is always rated low . . . and sometimes it beats expectations by substantial margins (we all predict the coming season to beat Rothstein's expectations).
