Cazzie22 Posted July 18, 2023 Report Posted July 18, 2023 We have much respect to earn. I don’t see any powerhouse teams. If we gel and play well we should be able to be competitive with most of the B1G. Handy Johnson 1 Quote

We have more bottom four finishes than any other team in the Big Ten since we joined. Edited July 18, 2023 by 49r Quote

jimmykc Posted July 18, 2023 Report Posted July 18, 2023 Other than Purdue, we should be able to play with any of the other teams listed. I'm sort of surprised Tominaga's return did not seem to affect Rothstein's rating at all. Sort of like ignoring Edey's return affecting the Boilermaker's rank. Quote
kldm64 Posted July 18, 2023 Report Posted July 18, 2023 If he is projecting CJ to be a starter, I don't put a lot of stock in his evaluation. HuscurAdam, cornfed24-7 and roscoe 1 2 Quote

CJ started 24 games last year. It makes at least as much sense to project him as a starter as it does a guy whom none of us have seen play in person. OmahaHusker 1 Quote
basketballjones Posted July 18, 2023 Report Posted July 18, 2023 Expected. I think we’re going to have the biggest difference between projection and finish. cornfed24-7 1 Quote

Not to mention they seemed to underperform a year ago. When they played great and the ball was hopping(like against us) they were a big problem. They should be right up in the mix imo. Quote
Swan88 Posted July 18, 2023 Report Posted July 18, 2023 "It is difficult to make predictions, especially about the future." --famous quote from an unknown source "That's why they play the game." Illinois always has an excellent team with superb athletes . . . but it folds in the NCAA tournament. Nebraska is always rated low . . . and sometimes it beats expectations by substantial margins (we all predict the coming season to beat Rothstein's expectations). Quote
