Simeon is 1 & done though right?

Hasn't played out that way.  He's barely playing for a roster that Pitino just called trash.

Does he need to patch up a relationship with an older sibling... Nebraska's specialty this year with the Allicks.

One of the things I've kept in the back of my head is the off chance that CJ and simeon go play together for cjs last year in college. My initial concern was CJ going to st John's to be close to home with simeon. Simeon has had moments this year, but it is not consistent enough, so I think him portalling out may be a legitimate option.

I'm not sure I'd classify him as a natural PG here, and his stats at st John's are not something I love. I'm not sure we reached out when he left UNC either, so after a worse year at st John's, not sure. But definitely something to track. The connection with JLaw may help also.

Take him in a heartbeat. He was the MVP of the EYBL Peach Jam, an event full of 5-star future lottery picks. Besides all that, just watching his film he was my favorite PG of that class. Tenacious defender with length and quickness.

Legit question then...why isn't he playing on a team where the coach is lambasting much of the team for their slow feet, lack of toughness, et al?  It doesn't make sense.

It is a legit question. Who knows. But I don't think any of the players that Pitino threw under the bus in the press conference play Wilcher's position. They were all wings and bigs. Pitino handpicked a bunch of 4th and 5th year portal guards and brought some along from his previous school.

Maybe Wilcher is in the doghouse for whatever reason. By all accounts the Wilchers are good people and CJ would make him put his head down and go to work.

If we're going the route of former 5-stars, why not add Omaha Biliew to the mix? Neither are playing much where they are. Both were recruited here and had at least *some* interest. Something to ponder, anyway.

To piggy back on that he brought his starting PG Daniss Jenkins from Iona had he's had the job from day one.  If Jenkins comes back for his extra covid year, he's likely to have the starting job again.  Otherwise if you cut through all the Pitino bluster he is a defensive coach and it's also likely that Wilcher isn't elite enough defensively to make up for his lack of experience.

Jordan Dingle, another combo guard, could also come back for a 6th year.

Omaha Biliew got beat out of the Iowa State rotation by a guy who was the second leading scorer at Peawaukee High School, behind Nick Janowski.

Ergo, Nick Janowski >>> Omaha Biliew.

This is exactly it. In Pitino's eyes, these freshman are tough to play for long stretches defensively when they don't know how to comprehend the scouting report as quickly like these older guys.

Isn't this Jenkins COVID Year? 2 at Pacific, 1 at Juco, 1 at Iona, 1 at St. Johns.

Following up giving out black eyes in the press with flowers and 'i'm sorry baby I didn't mean it' in the press

Yeah, perhaps I am totally wrong; but if I am being recruited and I see comments like that by the head coach, I would think twice before committing.

In last night’s 90 to 85 win over Georgetown, Simeon Witcher played 7 minutes, scored 7 points on three shots and 2 of 2 from the line, and committed 3 fouls.
