If Thomas Allen can't play, that's really five recruited scholarship players plus a walk-on who earned a scholarship.

Justin Costello, anyone?

AVAILABLE for RUTGERS GAME

1. Watson (recruited scholarship player)

2. Thor (recruited scholarship player)

3. Palmer (recruited scholarship player)

4. Roby (recruited scholarship player)

5. Heiman (recruited scholarship player)

6. Borchardt (former walk-on now on scholarship)

7. Trueblood (walk-on)

8. Costello (walk-on)

INJURED, REDSHIRT or SUSPENDED LIST

1. Copeland (recruited scholarship player)

2. Allen (recruited scholarship player)

3. Harris (recruited scholarship player)

4. Akenten (recruited scholarship player)

5. Burke (recruited scholarship player)

6. Davis (recruited scholarship player)

You need a couple of asterisks next to Thor and Heiman.

They're scholarship players, but they're not scholarship players like Watson, Palmer, and Roby are scholarship players.

They're closer to Tanner Borchardt/Johnny Trueblood level than they are to the other three scholarship guys.

I tell ya what.  If we win 4 straight with that (Rutgers, Maryland, Wisco, MSU) and reach the 20 win mark, we damn well deserve to be in and that'd be on hell of a coaching job.

I was listening to 1630 AM here in Iowa City this morning, and among the pissing and moaning about Fran, the hosts of the sports talk show equated Nebraska's OT lineup with Iowa playing with walk-ons Riley Till, Austin Ash and student-manager-turned-player Nicolas Hobbs in the lineup.

I knew we'd have to give up something for those 3 national championships in football in the 90s, but I kinda figured that debt would have cleared the books by now.

The volleyball team is keeping us in the black for the time being.

That would be just about analogous.

Five wins or Miles gets fired. Deal with it, all you Miles apologists.

I checked in on some Iowa post-game discussions.  There are some fans who REALLY want their coach, and his two sons, gone.

they're right to be pissed about yesterday. they gave that game away big. it's nice to be on the receiving end of one of those for a change, but still....iowa fans have higher standards for hoops. just getting to the tourney isn't enough for them. they want the occasional run. and fran hasn't given them that.

You want some good entertainment, go to hawkeyereport.com and read the game thread from yesterday.  The officials were the reason the schmuckeyes lost.  It was so blatant.  LOL  It certainly wasn't the fact that the schmucks absolutely REFUSE to play any defense.

Instead, their idiot AD give him secret multiple year extensions, then acts surprised/angry when word gets out about it.

In some ways, Iowa's doing what some of our own fans advocate--sticking with a coach for fear of not getting a better one. They've done the same thing with Ferentz. Iowa's not the job it used to be--or at least that's the perception of some folks. It's been a long, long time since the heyday of Lute Olson, so there's probably some angst that things could get worse.

But any time you dive into the shadows to work at a public school, you deserve everything bad that comes your way.

Agree.  Plus, they were burned so badly by Todd Lickliter, and before him, Steve AlFRAUD, that they are gunshy.

Speaking of AlFRAUD, it still blows my mind that anyone here would want that disaster anywhere near Lincoln - unless he was coming to be the starting SG.   LOL

Jordy transfers before school year starts.

Karrington Davis tears his Achilles before the season starts.

Dedoch transfers right about beginning of the season.

Isaac out with season-ending knee injury beginning of January.

Thomas Allen suffers ankle injury beginning of March and likely out for B1G tourney.

Nana violates team rules and gets himself suspended second week of March.

Amir?

And Tim Miles is coaching for his job.

What excuses are the Miles apologists going to come up with next? I have no idea because reality is more creative than anything I would have tried to write as fiction going into this year.

Tims fault we had this long, long, long winter.?

I know Iowa blew a 16 point second half lead, but I didn't really see it as Iowa pissing it away so much as Nebraska taking it.  Iowa hit some big shots and made most of their free throws down the stretch (maybe not earlier, but we missed ours early as well) That's what made it so exciting.  Iowa did not melt down, we just played unbelievably well at the end.

Yeah leaving the game and a Doughboy looking guy in all black and gold was on his phone crying about how they didn't get a call all day and... and... get this... he watched the "RAPE" of Bohananananan.

Silver, these jackholes are saying that Bohanan got fouled by Thor on the last shot.  Delusional.

Starters look like this:

PG A:  Glynn Watson

PG B:  Johnny Trueblood

SG/SF: James Palmer

PF:  Isaiah Roby

Center: Tanner Borchardt

Bench:

Backup backcourt:  Justin Costello

Backup utility guard/forward/post:  Thorir Thorbjarnarson

Backup front court/SG: Brady Heiman

Yeah, based on Trueblood's effort on Sunday, he should start. He balled out. And he bailed NU out with that B1G steal of kissy-poo Jordan Bohanan.

Try living in the middle of them.   Most delusional fan base on the face of the earth.

They were complaining that he was getting fouled trying to get open when Iowa was trying to inbound the ball.  Nice to see him roughed up a little.  The "kissy-poo" pushes off every single time on those.....

There was an inbounds play near the end that Bohanan shoved Watson at least 3'..... obviously a non-call. ?

But, yet, these fools think there's something on the final play. There's nothing there to call. hahahaha -- all I have to say: Idiots Out Wandering Around ?
