Justin Costello, anyone? AVAILABLE for RUTGERS GAME 1. Watson (recruited scholarship player) 2. Thor (recruited scholarship player) 3. Palmer (recruited scholarship player) 4. Roby (recruited scholarship player) 5. Heiman (recruited scholarship player) 6. Borchardt (former walk-on now on scholarship) 7. Trueblood (walk-on) 8. Costello (walk-on) INJURED, REDSHIRT or SUSPENDED LIST 1. Copeland (recruited scholarship player) 2. Allen (recruited scholarship player) 3. Harris (recruited scholarship player) 4. Akenten (recruited scholarship player) 5. Burke (recruited scholarship player) 6. Davis (recruited scholarship player) You need a couple of asterisks next to Thor and Heiman. They're scholarship players, but they're not scholarship players like Watson, Palmer, and Roby are scholarship players. They're closer to Tanner Borchardt/Johnny Trueblood level than they are to the other three scholarship guys. Quote

I was listening to 1630 AM here in Iowa City this morning, and among the pissing and moaning about Fran, the hosts of the sports talk show equated Nebraska's OT lineup with Iowa playing with walk-ons Riley Till, Austin Ash and student-manager-turned-player Nicolas Hobbs in the lineup. Klas3131 Posted March 11, 2019 Report Posted March 11, 2019 You want some good entertainment, go to hawkeyereport.com and read the game thread from yesterday. The officials were the reason the schmuckeyes lost. It was so blatant. LOL It certainly wasn't the fact that the schmucks absolutely REFUSE to play any defense. Quote

In some ways, Iowa's doing what some of our own fans advocate--sticking with a coach for fear of not getting a better one. They've done the same thing with Ferentz. Iowa's not the job it used to be--or at least that's the perception of some folks. It's been a long, long time since the heyday of Lute Olson, so there's probably some angst that things could get worse. But any time you dive into the shadows to work at a public school, you deserve everything bad that comes your way. Quote

Plus, they were burned so badly by Todd Lickliter, and before him, Steve AlFRAUD, that they are gunshy. Speaking of AlFRAUD, it still blows my mind that anyone here would want that disaster anywhere near Lincoln - unless he was coming to be the starting SG. LOL Bugeaters1 and CanadianHusker 1 1 Quote

And Tim Miles is coaching for his job. What excuses are the Miles apologists going to come up with next? I know Iowa blew a 16 point second half lead, but I didn't really see it as Iowa pissing it away so much as Nebraska taking it. Iowa hit some big shots and made most of their free throws down the stretch (maybe not earlier, but we missed ours early as well) That's what made it so exciting. Iowa did not melt down, we just played unbelievably well at the end. Red Don, BigTate, ladyhusker and 3 others 3 3 Quote
