They beat Ohio St last week

During that game their best player Eugene Omoruyi was injured and is out indefinitely

Go to player is currently PG Geo Baker

They have a ton of height...no one on the team is under 6'4"

Terrible 3pt shooting team, bad shooting team in general.  Wins with defense which hasn't been great in conference.

Playing Northwestern at home after being destroyed by Purdue on the road.

Northwestern also doesn't start traditional bigs so Rutgers will probably attack them in a similar way they plan to attack us on Monday.

Also got a big win against Miami in the B1G/ACC challenge, so they are capable of pulling the upset:

Rutgers is the kind of team that when you're playing them in high school, watching them warm up across the court, you're wondering why the wrestling team is out there. They're big enough to be on the WWE circuit. They definitely shoot like wrestlers.

Unfortunately, they fight on the glass like wrestlers too. We will need to have our big boy pants on in the paint.

Baker had a huge game vs the Bucknuts, but that's the only game I've seen where he's looked like the reincarnation of Corey Sanders. Unlike Sanders in the past, I expect us to handle Baker, so as long as we don't get murdered on the boards, we should be fine. (Because it's in NJ, murder is a real possibility.)

They have some size in the middle. Shaq doorson and Shaq Carter are both big guys. They also have Myles Johnson coming off the bench. None are GREAT, but the size advantage is there.

Should be a very winnable game, but this is one game to not look past in my eyes.

Yesterdays game against Michigan State was such a high energy game I wouldnt be surprised if some of our guys are gassed and beat up a little.

Still, they have three days in between... and its Rutgers. Should be able to win semi comfortably. But i wouldnt be surprised if its ugly for a half or so.

Dislocated knee cap right?

If roby and copeland pull there bigs out to the three point line we should have no problems on offense. They have no one who can Guard either of our guys

RU is 0-6 in Q1 games, including 0-2 in Q1 games at home. RU is also 1-2 in Q2 games at home, so not great against the best teams on their schedule when playing at the RAC.

At this point, this has slid into a Q3 game for us - very likely the last non Q1/Q2 game of the season for us. But RU is right on the cut-off line for Q2/Q3, so it could go either way as the season progresses.

NU opens -10 on the road

O/U is 135

Looked back several years, but can't find another game where we were a double digit favorite on the road - for neutral site games, we were minus-14 against Rutgers in the 2016 B1G Tournament and a double digit favorite vs Mizzou State in KC this season.

We won't be for this one either.  It's down to -9 to -8.5 and hitting -8 to start the game seems about right

Interestingly he played his first 17 games with double digit minutes (22 average minutes) but the moment they played us, his average minutes went down to 3.5 in the final 13 games. Seems they've known he's been a problem for awhile now.

Very interesting... waiting for that shoe to drop, methinks.

Seems more like Freshmen Ron Harper and Caleb McConnell were playing better and he got McVey'ed
