Yep.  And I know how we always talk about how Miles is ahead of the game in some things.  For instance, his use of twitter when he started here.

 

I think that he was ahead of the times as well when it comes to the importance of transfers.  Especially if they pass the new "No Sit" rule.

Unless something changes, transfers are going to be an ongoing fact of life.  We seem to understand and embrace this trend and as a result, Coach Miles is doing a nice job with getting high quality transfers.  We are going to lose players as well, and I hope people understand that it is going to happen.  There is only one ball, and only five players get to play at a time.  It is hard to keep 13 players happy, especially when they have had sunshine pumped up their a** most of their basketball life by their "handlers."

We always seem to have one who stars here, and all of those 3 were barely contributing elsewhere.  Should really help. Not sure transferring bigs would feel the same, but that’s only due to our big transfers being extremely limited so far.

Hopefully miles keeps hammering away at the transfer market, turning into what Iowa state was would not be a bad thing, I would like to see us focus more on local talent when trying to round out our roster in an effort to keep them at the school n develop them over 4 years if the local talent is worthy of an offer. 

 

Just seems more likely an instate kid won’t transfer out if not playing.  Love that we got Heiman

Moses also broke his hand and that was a bit of a hindrance, for whatever that's worth. Not sure if it would have made a TON of difference in his overall trajectory (like that doesn't make him at Palmer or Petteway level), but in a year where we could have used a serviceable big and had Captain Hook instead, that may have affected things a little.

This is a little OT; But I believe Relevant!  The thing that impresses me Most about Coach Miles is his recruiting (and development) of High-Character Individuals, whether they are transfers that were being underutilized elsewhere, or In-State recruits.  I believe this is an important factor in the long-term building of the program and it's reputation (evidence the oft-mentioned FBI investigation, and yet to be determined but potentially program-altering consequences).  Miles' emphasis on, and ability to recruit High-Character is no coincidence.
