Welcome aboard Xavier! I don't think anyone doubts Miles and his staff ability to recruit. It being able to convert the talent to wins on the court that is the issue. hhcmatt, NUtball and Red Don 3 Quote
hhcmatt Posted November 10, 2017 Report Posted November 10, 2017 He'll really play right away if he has a consistent jumper. He has everything else. Quote

That makes it seem like we're just on the list so that he has a final 5 or whatever. I'll be somewhat shocked if it's us he's choosing. This is certainly what you call "Under the radar recruiting." 49r Posted November 10, 2017 Report Posted November 10, 2017 it's fun to go back through old recruiting threads isn't it @hskr4life? Quote

You get to see just how much the player has improved. 2. You get to see what everyones first initial impression was of the player. 3. Funny how some things change. Quote
bleujay Posted November 10, 2017 Report Posted November 10, 2017 he looks like a smaller john wall. huge pickup, credit to your guys' staff Quote
AuroranHusker Posted November 14, 2017 Report Posted November 14, 2017 I like the John Wall comparison on a number of levels. Hope his game translates really well in the Big Ten. I think he's going to be a factor going forward at NU. Quote

bleujay Posted January 2, 2018 Report Posted January 2, 2018 (edited) He may not be exaggerating. Its becoming more obvious with each class that certain players are overlooked and criminally underrated by the scouting system. Part of me wants to think it has to do with the money. Obviously, talent is the biggest factor, but widespread exposure (and subsequently, high ratings in the services) may be something that only certain types of players (or families) receive. edit: still think Xavier is an incredible addition for you guys next year. It will be interesting to see which of your guards get how many minutes. Edited January 2, 2018 by bleujay Quote

I agree it will be interesting with Watson, Allen, and Johnson all 6'3 and smaller. Our 3 point defense may take a step back. bigFRED 1 Quote

Even if it’s a 45-50 second shot clock. I personally played in a game where we won an overtime tip and held the ball for the last shot... 2/3 overtime’s we played. The other OT they got the tip, missed, and we held for the last shot. Quote
