Certainly a great couple weeks of news around here. It will be great to have AWIII back for one more year.

Now...since Lanigan isn't around, maybe he is but I was gone for an hour so only skimmed, I have to play devils advocate for a second.

Anyone else find it interesting that AWIII tweets that he'll be back for another year of "College Basketball" instead of saying returning for my senior season at Nebraska or something like that? Now I could be reading way way to much into that and I expect everyone to tell me so. But every article I read about White returning had something about 'White returning to Nebraska'. Every single headline. And then the article would go on to explain that he had withdrawn from the draft. I didn't see any quotes from White directly in where he said he is returning to play at Nebraska. Now Miles says he's returning to Nebraska because that's what we know for now. One article (don't remember which one) mentioned that White has graduated and could always opt to be a graduate transfer. Are we worried about AWIII finding a perfect scenario and bolting for his final year? The correct answer is no but I want everyone to prove to me that it is the correct answer. Find me a quote, anything. Hopefully I just quit reading articles too soon.

Take a couple of deep breaths, it will be fine. AW-III is back at Nebraska. And presumably better than ever!!  B)

And, for good measure, Drew receives one more opportunity to show Bill Self, the KU program, and all of Allen Fieldhouse just how good he is! GBR

Melo Trimble is going back to Maryland.

Good; I hope Nebrasketball beats the tar out of Melo and his Twerps.

Every other starter is gone, right?

Yes.

Carter and Stone hired agents.

Layman and Sulaimon were seniors.

They did sign 2 top 100 guys(Kevin Huerter SG)(Anthony Cowan PG).

But interesting to see what they do.. lost a ton of talent.

Why would anyone "rub it in" unless everyone can say 100% they are never wrong.

Because he was being a tool about it and saying that it was an indictment of Miles.

Lol...yeah I was wondering how soon this would be up. I don't know who's the bigger tool. Him or the "source" he has. Maybe a bit of both.

38 pages and going with more than 30,000 views, too. I'd say that Nebrasketball is glad that AW-III IS BACK FOR HIS SENIOR SEASON!

Yeah, but 29,900 of those views are from Norm.

How's that refresh finger feeling, Norm?

I'm scheduled for a cortisone injection tomorrow.  Right now I'm inhaling hydrocodones and Hendricks Gin so Life is Goooood.

(No Nyquil chasers, though.  I mean, I gotta draw the line somewheres.)

So here's my ignorance and lack of wanting to do some basic research in play... What are the academic requirements for an "undergrad alum" student athlete? Are there credit hour requirements per semester?

I have no idea what exactly they are - but I'm not exaggerating when I say this is about to be one of the better years of this young man's life. Look up stuff on Matt Leinhart's last year at USC, or even a guy like Nate Funk at Creighton (guarantee those names have never been mentioned in the same sentence before - Pulitzer here I come).

Ladies and Gentlemen (and anyone who has not yet decided): I am officially now more optimistic about next year than I have been for any of the past forty years I have followed Husker basketball. It may be a sign of early senility or some bizarre side effect related to my new knee, but I really feel that our first NCAA victory is within grasp, barring injury or bad fortune. A lot has to do with talent on the team, but even more important is the fact that all of the players on the roster seem to have the type of mature character which leads to team success. I don't think there is a bad apple in the bunch and ego will for once not be a factor which would destroy team rapport.

You'll have to ask Grant Gibbs, given he played what 8 seasons, I am sure at some point he actually graduated from Crayton.
