Summer workouts ?
cyinne and one other reacted to Fastbreaker for a topic
welcome proudparent. just take us with a grain of salt. I asked one of the current team members father if he knew about this site. He said he did and observed for a day or two and then quit monitoring mainly because some of these 'experts' we have that think they know the game and workings of the team, definitely don't.2 points -

It's ok. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. I followed all of last season and I enjoyed all of the constructive criticism. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point -

This Nebraska crowd is ready for a few nice surprises this year. Last year was a tough one, but there seems to be a very positive vibes coming from the "new" squad. Welcome to Nebraska womens basketball and this board of basketball "experts"...we're very happy to have Ms Stallworth here, and hope she does have a great experience at UNL. I've gotten a few glimpses and feedback on your daughter's basketball skills, and am really looking forward seeing her and the team come together this fall. May take a few games to get their feet wet together. But that's all part of the fun. Like some of us predicted earlier....we may well win more games in the preseason than all of last year. If we're even close that....it will be an excellent start. Again ...WELCOME TO YOU, YOUR FAMILY, AND YOUR DAUGHTER !1 point -

OT: Omaha Metro Youth Basketball
Silverbacked1 reacted to Blindcheck for a topic
The other option is to have him earn the money for the basketball program....If you figure the cost is $1000...tell him, you will pay X amount 50% as an example, if he really wants to do it...but he needs to earn money to pay for the program (starting a lawn raking business, etc, spend his birthday money, etc) 2 things will come from this...if he takes the initiative to earn the money and pay for it...he probably will get more out of it than if you just paid the bill...he will also learn the value of money and he will decide if it is worth it to him. You will also find out if he really wants to do it.1 point -
If he enjoys it and is dedicated to it let him do it and find whatever is the best fit for you and your family. His skillset or potential shouldnt really matter as long as he loves it and takes it seriously...1 point

Man, I have so many thoughts on this issue.... I feel your pain man. Tough spot to be in as a parent who wants the best for their kid. Unfortunately, with the way youth sports are developing, you almost have to make the decision as a parent for your elementary kid whether or not they have potential to be a college basketball player or (at minimum) at least a varsity high school player. Because why would ever pay thousands of dollars over the span of 10-15 years on a sport if you don't think it will have major career/college impact on them. I would suggest playing a ton with your son, showing him how to organize pick-up games, and getting him into as many low-cost/free YMCA leagues as you can. If he seems to have a lot of potential, skill, and athletic ability... maybe you get him into a select system for late middle school.1 point -

Miles is as loose as a goose. Methinks he knows that this group could be really good a la 2013-14. Time will tell, though, if the 'vibe' fits the tribe.1 point -

So, this kid is really long and tall for a PG at 6'5" or so. Looks like he makes some pretty sweet passes. Lonzo Ball called to say Tyrese has an awkward looking shot, though.1 point
