  1. Dr. Noah Weiss. It's got a nice ring to it. (I passed my thesis defense today!)

  2. Forget chipotle, just show him a Runza and he'll commit on the spot. He's 7'2" and needs to add bulk. Why not both? This didn't help us with the big kid from Brown. Would this help the cause for Machu Pichu, I mean, Pikachu.... err, Paschal Chukwu?

  3. All the Indiana guys seem to think he is a Hooiser but who knows.. might just be "fan speak" Ha....you can probably find 20 different starting lineups on this site with Matthew Atewe as our starting center. I think he would probably back up Jahil Okafor in most scenarios...

  4. We definitely need to make him aware of our Chipotle proximity: Ranking 129 college football campuses by Chipotle proximity - SB Nation http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2015/6/1/8678633/CHIPOTLE-RANKINGS Nebraska is #8 Michigan State is #37 Virginia is #48 Kansas is #64 So we got THAT going for us...which is nice.

    NCAA rule changes

Here is an article about the proposed rule changes. http://www.jconline.com/story/sports/college/purdue/womens-basketball/2015/05/31/proposed-changes-bring-womens-basketball-closer-wnba/28258171/

  7. Not Chukwu, but related: KU. And Coleby's commitment there.

  8. I just watched his videos for the first time.... ummm dear God is he real? That is the most athletic 7'2 guy I've ever seen, or at least most athletic 7'2 guy interested in us.

  9. Looks like he has arrived for his 'Official!'

  10. Would t it depend on why a person was transferring? Are we sure it was PT? What if he didn't like how he was being used why on the court? I would use the strength coach here and ability to focus on getting better to be the biggest recruiting pitch. Guys that go to KU have to be great right away or they are forgotten about. I hope Andrew White is his host.

  11. If you haven't already: Noah Dickerson Well we didn't want him anyway look how he spelled Nebraska! (Washington). Dickerson say NO-ahhh to Nebraska.

  12. Might be the first time I've heard a top 50 guy with offers from the likes of Kentucky that is at least considering a possibility for NU being labeled underrated. I was trying to draw your attention to the fact that his name was misspelled. Mission not accomplished, I guess.

  15. According to Phog.net KU may or may not still have room for Chukwu. One of their 2016 commits, LaGerard Vick is considering re-classifying to 2015. If he does not, then they'll have room for Chukwu. At any event, I'd imagine that if he wanted to go to KU, they'd probably manage to find room for him...just like we would if Bielfeldt commits to us. (ed. There's also talk that Brady Morningstar could give up his scholarship and walk on to make room for additional guys, too...however likely that may be is uncertain, probably just internet message board stuff, but who knows? I'm just sayin')

    NCAA rule changes

The changes..... will change the college game quite a bit probably, and agree, it may speed up the game like the article said.....all for that. Apparently they're trying to make for less structured (time consuming) play calling...that will change a lot of teams approach to the offense. As said the point overall, apparently is it will make college more similar to the pro/international game. Sounds like it's close to a done deal. No more 3 on 3 half court play????

  19. Cubs have the curse of the billy goat. Red Sox had the curse of the Bambino. Do we have a curse? Does the curse of indigestion from too many free Runzas count? Given the qualification of why we win the free Runzas, there is no such thing as "too many free Runzas". Besides, I love them.

    2016 recruits

this would be a very nice get. according to her list, all west coast but N. don't like to be pessimistic, but, if you stack her comments and list together, think N might be the longshot. sure would like to be proven wrong, though. to me, sounds like she really wants to stay out thatta way. my gut tells me Stanford, Oregon St, and Washington lead the list.

  22. As a long-time (ever since the rise of the Piatkowski Dynasty) Clippers fan, I'd probably trade TP for Barnes, especially after this post-season. How are TP's "yo mama" jokes?

  24. HB

    In state kids?

He's very good, but he's 6-5 or so and a post player. He's going to be a terrific high school player, but his college choices will be limited by his size. Looks pretty mature so I doubt he'll grow much. The curse of the hairy legs.

  25. Sorry can't help myself. He can handle the ball and be a "point-forward" such as Paul Pressey did but he does not have the mindset to play point guard for extended periods. He might be able to play an average 5 today but if so that speaks more about the lack of quality centers than it does about Lebron's ability. The centers of the 70's-00's would have killed him. Lebron is a fabulous player and take him for what he is. I don't think either is the GOAT but great players. Regardless picture Lebron trying to guard Jabbar, Moses, Gilmore, Ewing, Hakeem, Ewing, Robinson, Duncan and Shaq, or even the Cartwrights, Mornings, Smits, or Daugherty. A possession or two caught on a switch maybe. Take an entire game and they all wear him out. I don't entirely disagree that he'd have trouble handling the centers with these crazy skillsets, but also consider his ability to outrun all of those centers and stretch the floor against any of those guys. Also: Jabbar = 225 lbs Malone = 215 lbs Gilmore = 240 lbs Ewing = 240 lbs Hakeem = 250 lbs Robinson = 236 lbs Duncan = 256 lbs Shaq = 325 lbs Lebron = 265 at "4" weight... I think we forget the only person on that list that would body him up is Shaq. Here's a video of Lebron killing Gasol who, by the way, weighs 254--40 lbs more than Malone, 10lbs less than Lebron (who is also at 5% body fat). He couldn't make Lebron move an inch. I think Lebron's weight is often forgotten in these arguments. Defense matters in the GOAT discussion, IMO. I know you love Magic, but he had some serious defensive liabilities against quicker guards and slow help defense when he was guarding shooters (John Paxon). Lebron is easily a Rodman-level defender with similar height and way more strength. Like I said, I wouldn't call him GOAT yet, but he's the only guy in my generation that I'd say is talented enough to pull it off.

  26. The man has never gotten into legal trouble or had a scandal, despite being in the national spotlight since he was in high school. By all accounts he's highly intelligent, an active father, and an overall solid role model. Compare that with the average professional athlete today who does far worse while under a much smaller microscope. And you want to complain about a one-hour TV broadcast, which he agreed to do in exchange for raising $6 million for charity? It always amazes me how many sports fans are able to separate on- and off-field performance for everyone other than LeBron. They can literally cheer for criminals, and yet hold a grudge against a guy for a couple arrogant statements made five years ago.
