The basketball team channeling the football team.  Make furious comeback at the end, only to lose in heartbreaking fashion.

Similar, indeed. Still amazing how few mistakes Iowa makes, though, and how many the Huskers make. The difference between 5-7 and 12-0 is so slim.

Here's to beating the Tennessee Washington Colonial Volunteers tomorrow. Oh, and women's victory over UConn (and I define victory in that one as coming within 20).

Iowa did make mistakes, but they didn't cost them because they got the bounce.  Had a fumble that Nebraska recovered while the Nebraska got called for hands to the face.  I guess that was a Nebraska mistake, but the Iowa guy was also holding.  Had 2 more fumbles that bounced right to them.

if there's such a thing as a quality loss, this would be it.

questions about this new mix slowly getting answered, and mostly the answers are promising. like this team's heart. far more "into" games than last years model.

rebound problem still with us, and in the B1G, is a really bad problem to have. It'll cost us a few games this season. In spite of that, the rest of the team's future looks pretty sound. Still gotta get better at recruiting meat and then I think we'll be where we want to be.

Moral Victories!  We Don't need No Stinkin' 'Moral Victories!'

Huskers proved to be surprisingly tough competition against #12 Cincinnati and were always in the game.  The team is really coming together.  They'll sneak up on some unsuspecting teams this year!

Down 7 with 80 secs left and Parker, Tai, and Hammond all out there...

Who's in charge of our subbing? Jacobsen sick? Fuller just suck? Or what....?

Tai has 17 tonight. Morrow playing like a freshmen. Hammond has 7 tonight. Parker I don't think should be out there.
Tai can't shoot 3's - and he's giving up wide open looks that absolutely kill your flow and spacing.

I can't find the stats, but he hit his first 2 3's tonight, plus got fouled shooting a 3.

Tai was 2 of 3 from deep, 7 of 12 from the field overall, and 5 of 5 from the line, three of which came as the result of getting fouled shooting a 3.

Overall line for Tai: 21 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 turnover. If we can get that kind of play from him, get White to step up and not have Shields sit for 20-plus minutes, this team could be good.

7-6 them

Webster with the drive, said he is sick

I hope the explanation for Tai isn't that he played so well because he was too sick to overthink things and just played tonight

My points more to the fact that we were desperate for outside shooting towards the end, and he's giving up wide open looks off of great drive and kicks - and we didn't score when we needed to.

Did he have a great game? Absolutely. But we've gotta get shooters out there. Just my opinion of course.

Ya know what, I'm gonna concede I'm wrong here.... Tai played a great game and as a coach I doubt I could take him out either.

However, These droughts come because we have guys who won't and can't shoot open shots that you basically have to shoot in 2015, 30 second, pack-line oriented, freakishly athletic college basketball. And it's starting to drive me friggin nuts ha

I think Tai's going to gain more confidence in his shot as the season goes on.  Last year, down the stretch he hit like 4-12 or something close to that.  It looks like he isn't scared to shoot it if he is wide open.  I think the only problem late in the game was the fact that Cincy was trying to close out quickly which made them think they weren't open.

I agree. Last year"s squad was worse but this is a regular complaint of mine. We get guys open looks where they can catch and shoot in rhythm and they just pass the ball. We need shooting guards who will shoot when they get open looks.

Really need a big man that can dominate the boards. 16 offensive rebounds, and they dominated inside down the stretch. We had no answer for them when they got the ball down low.

Couldn't watch the game. Ellis and Hammond are the same height and weight. Does Ellis have quite a bit more muscle so he could push Jake around?
