I was told that he let the team know he was leaving on Monday. So that probably explains that Tai Webster tweet even more.

I think we all wish Terran the best of luck and it will still be really cool to watch his progression in the NBA. I think his game really does translate well to the NBA. I've been to basically every home game the last 3 years and it was so fun and exciting to watch him play. He was responsible for some of the most memorable sporting events I have ever witnessed.

I would have to disagree. Where is he going to play in the NBA? He's a tweener that doesn't have that great of handles (all comparisons are to NBA players). He predictably drives right and his outside shot is not anywhere near NBA shooter caliber. He certainly would not be allowed to be a high volume shooter for any team. I wish him the best but I don't see where his skill set fits any definite role that an NBA team would be looking for him to fill.

wow

Seriously?  Like in wow, this was remotely surprising?  The wow would have been if he stayed.  This was a pretty easy call for the past year.

"Wow" as in this person tends to not say too many positive things about the program. I'm taking it to mean that having a third person leave within a week means bad things for the future of the program.

Yeah, Fever, you're probably right.  I just was looking for an opportunity to get at those who have been in denial about this for a long time.

It's not official until it comes from the University or from Terran himself, but I'll confirm that this is legit and it's just a matter of time until it's confirmed by one of those two.

Actually, it's official when Rosenthal tweets it.  I mean, I think that's a board rule.  One of the unwritten kind.

He's confirming that it's not confirmed ;)

My guess is an nba scout/front office employee/talent evaluator leaked this news to realgm.com.

I'm guessing that's not how petteway wanted the news to get out and is denying it until he can officially announce it himself.

The report does say that he "plans" to declare.  But perhaps than plan would change if told by the NBA advisory group that he is not likely to be drafted?  Just food for thought.  Not sure when that advisory group gives the advice.

I think it's already set in stone. Petteway just wants to be the one to officially announce it.

Suspect they were trying to land a recruit before having this info go public.

There is no way there is a conspiracy to withhold an announcement to bait and switch a recruit. If you're going to be that sort of organization, it's easier to tell Tarin Smith he's going to play 35 minutes at the point next year. That's not who we are.

I'd say that's a pretty good guess.

Miles said they're going to talk Tuesday. TP said they're going to talk Tuesday.

If TP has a decision made up at that point, it's going to come out via the University in an email and/or tweet...not in a planned leak.

BTW, it's definitely in our best interest for guys like Petteway and anyone else we're recruiting to make it to the NBA even if it means leaving early.

Indiana landed McDonalds All-American Thomas Bryant in some part because of past success of former players making it to the NBA.

April 4 — Before the fourth quarter in the Oak Hill-Monteverde, Bryant commits to Indiana on ESPNU, citing the past history of Cody Zeller and Noah Vonleh getting to the NBA after playing at Indiana.
