It was a calculated strategy, I think.  We needed to find a way to neutralize their monstrous height advantage and that was by not letting them get dunks and have to earn their points from the free throw stripe.  Notice how Moses and Walt both had 4 fouls midway through the second half and still avoid fouling out.  The strategy paid off as they only hit about 50% from the line IIRC.

Tai's a great kid and certainly worked hard in the offseason by all accounts, but at this point in time Tarin Smith needs to take over that roll of first guard off the bench.  He shows much more in limited time and has very little negative plays.

Real question, how does some of these guys still have a job? I mean there are numerous people who can see that Hess is no longer a DI ref, yet he still works three to four games a week.

How do coaches or athletic directors get so that they say no more he won't do any of our games.

I've been thinking/saying this since the first week. Love this guy. He doesn't make a lot of mistakes and is icy cold when he squares up.

That said,I'm not throwing tai under the bus like SOME PEOPLE *ahem*. I still believe in the kid.

I think after what Benny has shown us we can't be quick to judge these kids ever again.

Nobody is saying throw Tai to the sharks or pull his scholarship...but is it really THAT wrong to say right now Tarin should be eating up some of the minutes Tai is getting?  Tai needs to play...especially because we have limited depth but he's still swimming in it.  And Tarin may hit a brick wall also...but right now I think Tarin brings more to the table.
