Nebrasketballer Posted May 21, 2014 Report Posted May 21, 2014 Cornish rubbed me the wrong way on twitter. I'm not upset he's not coming. Seems like a punk and has a lot of growing up to do imoI've followed him on Twitter and curious what rubbed you the wrong way? I didn't see anything that he posted bad about Nebraska. Just curious what posts rubbed you the wrong way?The fact that he retweeted this during his visit to Nebraska was pretty classless. It's one thing to retweet something from a UNLV fan during his visit to Nebraska that says something like "UNLV is awesome...come here..."...it's an entirely different situation when he retweets something that basically says "Nebraska sucks" while he was actually on his official visit to Nebraska (knowing that Miles and the rest of the coaching staff would likely see it). It is as disrespectful as it gets towards a coaching staff and program that are spending money, in order to give you a free mini-vacation while treating you like a celebrity...https://twitter.com/colvinis/status/465958712486543360 Silverbacked1, REDZONEDAN and Norm Peterson 3 Quote

AuroranHusker Posted May 21, 2014 Report Posted May 21, 2014 Oh well, Jordan would've been a good pickup for Big Red; but I, for one, am not really too broken up by his movin' on to Vegas. One wonders where Cornish will transfer to or be forced to "move on" in a few years... Quote
doc1394 Posted May 21, 2014 Report Posted May 21, 2014 I wish I could go back and watch that video. For some reason, I feel like he said he was committed to the "University of Northern Las Vegas", and if he did, I may lose it. Quote

lanigan123 Posted May 21, 2014 Report Posted May 21, 2014 Weather won't be as big of an issue come fall. Delta will now have a Atlanta Lincoln flight. This will help get peeps to Lincoln more efficiently. The only other option is delta through Omaha. The only reason it travels thru Denver is that's the hub that flys to Lincoln. It all depends on the airline. I believe southwest flys omaha to NOLA as well. I used to travel to NOLA frequently. I really think 2015 is going to be the year recruiting changes. I'm hoping we get 2 top 150 guys. I really like the pg mollinari has connections with in Illinois and I love morrow. I think we should have a much clearer picture by the end of summer. Quote

Creighton Fan Posted May 21, 2014 Report Posted May 21, 2014 I dont get why Pellini was involved wit da recruiting. One of da biggest knocks on NU is that its a football school. I think thats an even bigger deal when da other schools are wake and Unlv. Ya just know they be sayin see, told ya thats a football schhool, dey even had the football coach talk to ya! Maybe I mist it but since when is Pellini knowed as such a great recruoter or clloser any way? Quote

I posted for the Sam/Nike bit. While the PT theory applies to some situation, it certainly doesn't apply here. UNLV has a glut of guard options...there is a quicker path to PT at Nebraska Quote

Maybe I mist it but since when is Pellini knowed as such a great recruoter or clloser any way? I disagree, Central. Pelini is a celebrity, for one, so recruits and their families will probably be excited to meet him. To me, the "it's a football school" argument is easy for the staff to shoot down now. If a recruit or his family told me that, I'd sit down with them and watch the last five minutes of the Wisconsin game from last season. I'd show them the crowd at the Citadel game, with over 14,000 Husker fans in attendance. I'd let them know that Nebraska is now like Michigan and Wisconsin, places where both football and basketball are huge. The evidence is there now. With the new facilities and everything the program has going for it now, it's much easier to show conclusive proof that the fans love and support the program. Quote
Creighton Fan Posted May 21, 2014 Report Posted May 21, 2014 The nike stuff is troubling. If kids be picking other schools because nebraska aint nike, then the coaching job be a harder gig den we thought. Who benefits most from adidas contract? Football? Quote

Is pelinni really a celebrity outside of the state? What he won to make him a celebrity?(I'll duck now lol) There are obviously degrees of celebrity. Bo's a guy that basketball recruits see on Sportscenter, on Jim Rome, being talked about in the news (not always positively), etc. Yes, he's a celebrity outside of Nebraska, at least among people who follow college sports. It's pretty routine for recruits from one sport to have some face time with coaches in another sport. I'm sure Tim Miles meets and greets football recruits too. Now, having said that, anyone who expects the Pelini factor to win basketball recruits for us may as well check himself into a mental health facility, and preferably the kind that you can't check yourself out of. Norm Peterson Posted May 21, 2014 Report Posted May 21, 2014 I wonder if someone could calculate the total amount of time a kid who prefers Air Jordans would have to spend in adidas if he attended Nebraska. Figure 4 hours on game days x 30, that's 120 hours. 3 hours per practice (including suiting up, etc.) for 120 days, maybe? Just guessing? That's another 360 hours. Conservatively double that to cover all other workouts, etc. So, let's just say 1000 hours per year wearing adidas shoes. Now, the number of waking hours in a year would be roughly 16 x 365 = 5840. That means almost 5,000 hours per year they can spend wearing any damn kind of shoe they want. And 1/5 that amount of time, only while doing activities related to being on the basketball team, would they have to wear adidas. Yeah, I can see why that would make a kid choose UNLV. Quote
