Why do we even acknowledge them? I hate the fan base but the more we talk about them, the more they see it as us being jealous about their recent success, even if it's not the case.

They talk about us all the time...are they jealous?

One could argue that they talk about us because we're they're favorite team 7 out of the 12 months of the year

Excellent point.

Depends on how recent you are talking about.  Not jealous at all of the game they just had.  They might have to get to used to that sort of thing in the future.

If you mean read their message boards and/or interact on social media with the people who frequent those sites, i'd concur.

Lost in the midst of all of this laughing at Creighton's "team of a lifetime" flaming out in the tourney, was how awesome Baylor looked. When they play to their talent level there aren't many teams that can beat them. Tough draw for our guys having to play them as a 6 seed. Their talent level is that of a 1 or 2 seed. How the heck did Scott Drew lose so many games in the regular season with this roster?

Here is why I have no problem seeing them get embarrassed tonight by 30.

If you read twitter, their message board (our message board sometimes) they will TELL you how freaking great they are all year long and how "We can beat anybody in America, and we get no freaking respect."  Then a game like this happens where they actually have to PLAY one of those teams they pump their chest about and get killed and they say "Well, we maybe just weren't as athletic as I thought."  Blah, blah, blah.

I would have loved to see them lose by 50 tonight, but 30 was nice enough.  Their fans had a hay day on twitter/message boards/facebook when we got beat.  "NU didn't even deserve to get in, played in a weak B10 this season."  Then they get beat by twice as much as we did to the same team, we played in a league that has THREE teams in the Sweet 16 (we beat two of them) and they played in a league that has NOBODY still in the tourney.  I just get so tired of their fan base pumping their chest all the time demanding "National Respect" but for what?  Making it to the dance?

What stinks is they will simply always say "Well at least we have won a game in the tourney."

I'm curious to see how they do these next few years losing 4 starters the way they do.  I'm very hopeful they take a big step back, especially losing a player like Doug (who I respect a TON).

Because Scott Drew is Scott Drew... apparently BU played man-to-man quite a bit earlier in the season when it was obvious the talent lent itself to be an all-zone defensive team. And, the Big 12 is really, really good!

If (more likely, when) the Bears knock down threes in bunches, they'll be tough for the Badgers to overcome in an offensive showcase. That game should be a good one next weekend...

From a glorious Saturday this December...forward, it will be pretty damn easy to play nice.

Well, unless you are the kind that loves to rub it in!

I will give Doug all the credit in the world as a very good player. It will be really nice playing them without him. Have to wonder how well Creighton will fare next year. I don't think their future is all that bright. Coach McDermont hasn't ever really shown any stellar capacity without Doug. It would not surprise me to see him use this year's success to get a pay raise - either at another school or using another school's interest to spur Creighton to kick in. In the end, I don't think he will succeed beyond Doug at a very high level. But I thought investing in Kaypro computers was a good idea, too, so ...

I thought Coach McDermott utilized his son very well during his career.  He just didn't recruit enough players to help him.  By the way, I hope people notice that Fred "the Mayor" Hoiberg can coach a little.  Beating NC without Niang was quite an accomplishment and I hope they take out UConn.

guys like Double Douche, Tyler A, and the rest of those dbags on the message board over there.

If you read twitter, their message board (our message board sometimes) they will TELL you

Have you guys considered reading less Creighton tweets and message boards than most Creighton fans?

I don't follow their message board at all, but just the things people have put on here.

As for twitter. Its hard to not read it when you follow friends/fans of CU on twitter.  They will post things, retweet, etc....Then it comes up on your timeline.

Greg McDermont has had good success everywhere he was before Iowa State.  For whatever reason he didn't seem comfortable at the major conference level. I think he felt more comfortable at a Mid Major program, thus the move to Creighton.  It will be interesting to see how he does post Doug.  But internally he wasn't a huge fan of going to the Big East.  Also I'm sure he really wanted to win the Big East and get to the Sweet 16.  That way if they struggle for the next three years and he gets on the hot seat he could fall back on that.  He doesn't now.

I really see Creighton having to hire a new coach in 5 or less years.

Cherry was out for many of them and he makes a difference.

I don't tweet and the message board is like a bad train wreck that I cannot help watching.  As for the guys I mentioned they have been banned multiple times each here.  Maybe that is why I don't care for them.  And finally what I read should not bother you.

Creighton's 30-point loss was the largest blowout in the tournament.....taking the title away from Colorado who Pitt beat by 29.

Pretty sure you meant to write that Colorado lost to Pitt by 29.

Sucks to be either CU.
