KZRider Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 Did anyone notice whether Jean was yelling "Husker" or "Power" today? Quote
Nighthawk Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 No.....Jean was yelling "Who Cares....You Suck!" Because its the classy thing to do. Silverbacked1 and Norm Peterson 2 Quote

Norm Peterson Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 6 pages on Jean Peck complaining about a new cheer? Â Wowser. Â We didn't even get this many pages out of the Shim Shams. Â This better be a lesson. Â Let the word go forth from this time and place to friend and foe alike that if you piss off the student section at Husker basketball games, they gon open up a can o whoopass on y'all, b___ch. Husker Bone Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Has TM given the fans a better grade than B+? Is it possible that Mrs Miles (Jean) is trolling us the fans to get us wound up and to the A-grade? Silverbacked1 and hhcmatt 2 Quote
hhcmatt Posted January 29, 2024 Report Posted January 29, 2024 Jean Peck passed away this October. Quote
hskr4life Posted January 29, 2024 Report Posted January 29, 2024 That’s sad— even though that letter was… woof… she seemed to be a lifelong Husker fan and attended the basketball games.  This means she passed before seeing what so many of us are hoping to see once in our lifetimes.   Ron Mexico 1 Quote

AuroranHusker Posted January 29, 2024 Report Posted January 29, 2024 A walk down memory lane... a fun season back in 2014. Hard to believe the Vault is already 10 years old. Sorry to see you go, Jean. Quote

jimmykc Posted January 29, 2024 Report Posted January 29, 2024 Sort of sad news. R.I.P. to the Pecks and condolences to the family. Probably won't have to worry about any obscene cheering where they are now. Ron Mexico 1 Quote

Faux Mike Peltz Posted January 29, 2024 Report Posted January 29, 2024 Read the entire thread during my lunch break. What a trip down memory lane.  couple of interesting things - some of the prominent posters in 2014 don’t post anymore  Someone quote tweeted Brian Rosenthal (people had no idea at the time)  I remember when a certain AD buckled and instructed the spirit squad to no longer lead the chant. So, Jean’s letter did have an impact. The tradition is now back but I believe it’s not kind of just lackluster- probably because the arena isn’t as full during tipoffs and especially the 6pm start games….  AuroranHusker 1 Quote

TourneyBound Posted January 29, 2024 Report Posted January 29, 2024 weird that they were able to have a joint service for her and her husband. Looks like they died about 5 months apart. Quote

Bugeaters1 Posted January 29, 2024 Report Posted January 29, 2024 It seems to happen a lot. I had a friend whose wife died in July of 22, he passed away in December of 23. He was a lonely man. We would take road trips around the state, and into Kansas, just to hang out. I sure miss him and the road trips. Ron Mexico 1 Quote
