hhcmatt Posted January 20, 2014 Report Posted January 20, 2014 So Dusan Ristic, a 7'0'' center from Serbia just transferred in to start at Sunrise Christian Academy in Kansas. He is THE REAL DEAL. Im talking first round projection in 2015 talk. Im sure he will probably go to a big time program but if there were ever a guy NU needed to get over the hump it is him. Hopefully Pinder can be a mouse in his ear. KamdyMan...not that you would need to, but have you alerted the coaching staff? I'm sure they are well aware...but just in case.... literally tweeted Robin, Coach Harriman, Coach Miles, and Coach Smith saying the one big man away is waiting after I saw it go out so if they didnt before they do now. If we didn't know they were going to Sunrise before they arrived, I doubt we have a chance. Quote

Section_316 Posted January 23, 2014 Report Posted January 23, 2014 Any updates on schools coming to see this kid? Quote
FredsSlacks Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 Maybe THIS is why Miles has kept Sergej around! Unless they are best friends, I doubt this is why we kept him around. Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted January 24, 2014 Author Report Posted January 24, 2014 Whats interesting is there's a preview article for the tournament on TV tomorrow that has Ristic already going to Arizona. I cant find anything at all about it but wouldnt surprise me to see him at a school like that with the projections Ive seen on him. Quote

I have no idea. I cant find ANYTHING on him and colleges anywhere on the old google machine but theres a local Memphis paper that has a preview of this weekends tournament and the players to watch for each school. Pinder is listed as a Nebraska commit for Sunrise as is the others on the team and Dusan Risitic is also listed with Arizona as his school. I found it odd they had it listed since youd think it'd be listed somewhere but figured I would post it nonetheless. http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2014/jan/22/prep-insider-viewers-guide-penny-hardaway-hoopfest/ Quote

Silverbacked1 Posted January 25, 2014 Report Posted January 25, 2014 We need to get in on #24. He looks more polished than the big Serb. Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted February 21, 2014 Author Report Posted February 21, 2014 BR just tweeted he has an offer and may visit soon. REDZONEDAN 1 Quote

lanigan123 Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Wow amazing. You can imagine a nice 5 starters. Mannn Quote
REDZONEDAN Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 BR just tweeted he has an offer and may visit soon. This would be huge to get a visit. Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted February 21, 2014 Author Report Posted February 21, 2014 The only thing I'm curious about are his grades. Many people have hinted that it will be tough to get him academically eligible. That could all just be talk but hopefully that scares off the big dogs a little. Quote
Swan88 Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Here is a video of Dusan Ristic posted in May of 2013 titled, "7'0" Dusan Ristic Dominates China in NIJT Opener!" In terms of Miles' requirements that a player be able to pass the ball, it appears he can definitely do that. Quote
GoBigRed Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Wow. Big kid. Great awareness. Good hands. Very unselfish. Quote
gobigredbrah Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Weaknesses: -Below average athlete. Lacks quickness and explosiveness in a serious way -Poor open floor speed -Struggles to finish around the rim in traffic due to limited leaping ability. Rarely dunks the ball -Effort level can be questionable at times. Not a fiery or intense personality. Lets smaller players take loose balls right out of his hands at times -Lacks toughness inside the paint. Doesn't seem to love contact -57% FT% at NIJT. 42% in Serbian league -Doesn't always show up in the big games Sounds like a hybrid between Serge and Diaz... definitely saw the lack of toughness in his highlight video. but he is a much better scorer than diaz and serge combined Quote

TheKamdyMan Posted February 21, 2014 Author Report Posted February 21, 2014 Who's all recruiting this guy? Honestly nobody has any updates on the guy on any site. He obviously came over late so there hasn't been much time. I do know Arizona is hard after Him and he tweets about them outside of that no clue. Quote
49r Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 BTW, let me stress that what I quoted above was merely meant tongue in cheek. The kid sounds like a baller from what you all say, and I would be through the roof if we were able to land him. Quote
ajb5856 Posted February 25, 2014 Report Posted February 25, 2014 Robin's article from today makes it sound like Dusan's first choice is Arizona, and that it is likely that he ends up there. If he goes on the Arizona visit and it turns out that he doesn't like it there, then he will come here for a visit. He says his top choice is Arizona and makes every indication that he will commit there while on his visit. http://nebraska.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1613734 Quote
