For all the Creighton fans that think UNL and the Nebraska university system drags down the education in the state, I can say for certain, UNL's law school tops Creighton's, UNMC is more selective than Creighton and often students who don't get into UNMC end up at Creighton in the next term, and Creighton's only has 4 Ph.D. programs.

I would bet within 5 years their med school is completely run by Alegent Health (the process has already begun) with no ties to the university and they'll lose the best thing they have going for them.

The UN-L Honors Program is nearly as selective as an Ivy League school, and as selective as many of the more prestigious colleges and universities around the country.  The last I heard, the AVERAGE ACT score of students in the UN-L Honors Program was a 32.  Creighton's average is about a 27 with an inner-quartile range of 24-29.  That means that the dividing line, the cutoff, between the top 25% of students at Creighton and everyone else was a 29.  The AVERAGE in UN-L's Honors Program is a 32.

I use the Honors Program for comparison purposes because, as a public Land Grant University, UN-L is obliged to admit graduates of Nebraska high schools who meet less rigorous admission standards.  It used to be that they were obliged to admit anyone who graduated from an accredited  Nebraska high school.  Anymore, there are some additional standards that can apply.  But Nebraska's major public university has a much broader reach than a small, private college.  The Honors Program is more of an apples-to-apples comparison.

In addition to Law and Medicine, Nebraska's College of Business ranks higher than Creighton's.  And costs 1/3 as much.  As HB has pointed out on many occasions, it is a mistake for anyone from Creighton to play the "academics" card.

Signs you either didn't go to Creighton or got a law degree there.

Bluejay fans abuse their children!

Well, my 2 1/2 year old son brought home his first bad words from daycare yesterday. He has been chanting Go Bluejays all week. Last night he said Go Big Red, which is the dumbest chant in the history of sports, and I really hate when idiots type GBR on their facebook feed. I put him in timeout for this and calmly told him he should never say that.

This morning, he yelled Go Bluejays again, and then said sheepishly, "No go other team". Hopefully we go that out of his system. The worst part is that he goes to daycare on Creighton's campus. No reason anyone there should be saying that ever, let alone this week.

Going to be some cats on suicide watch when we start taking over this series.  I think some of those morons hate Nebraska more than they like Creighton.    Nebraskans worried about their little ones saying Go Big Red is somewhat psychotic in a football state, as is having your daughter(and yoursefl) dream about having your picture taken with a big red inflatable hick.  Sounds very creepy to me.  Some strange folks over in those parts.  Obviously wearing a sweater vest is not all that it would seem.  And to think these are the types of people that school produces makes one cringe.  The normal Creighton fans I know did not go to school there.  Seems to have had an adverse affect on the hoops crowd that graduated there.

Right? If I were running a daycare and had a parent come in and tell me he was very concerned by the fact that his child came home saying "Go Big Red," I don't know what I would do...probably laugh hysterically...and then quit my job because of parents like him. The sad part, a few Creighton fans agree with him and think that that's the most ridiculous thing they've ever heard of.

Miles on Creighton: http://www.sacbee.com/2013/12/07/5978978/miles-huskers-are-out-to-end-creighton.html

"I just know that it's a really, really important game to me personally. It's an important game for our program," Miles said Friday.

But more astounding, I think Miles said it best: "I don't know what the series is. It's 0-1 to me," (aka, this game is on Miles. It doesn't matter that we've got an edge on the overall series. He's going to do everything I can to get us back to 1-1).

Lol...there are Jay fans over on the ESPN game discussion board that are saying its all us...that we don't root for Creighton because we are jealous of a better team.

ESPN game discussion board is full of dickweeds and/or gamblers.  It's the sports version of the Journal Star comment section.

Is Miles going to put Peltz in just to rip apart some sweater vests?

That would be about the only logical reason to play him other than guys having foul trouble
