  1. I missed 5 minutes of the show. ‘Every offseason should be important and this program should never have to make a run to the NIT, a run should be to the NCAA tournament!
  2. I totally agree with what you are saying here. I would love to have many on this board have a round table discussion with Trev about Huskerhoops and what his vision is for the program and what can be done to attract Nebraska High school players to Nebraska basketball.
  3. I’m wondering just how much of a commitment Nebraska puts on Huskerhoops financially? I would like to see how we stack up against BIG teams and overall ranking in division 1. With the new BIG tv deal, there should be no reason Huskerhoops budget should not be in the top 25 annually. Trev was on Sports Nighty for his once a month appearance yesterday evening and of course no mention of Huskerhoops.
  4. I have been a fan since the late 70’s and have always thought the next season will be the year the Huskers win a NCAA tournament game, since that has not happened, Huskerhoops reminds me of this phase: (free beer tomorrow). Unless Fred can bring in multiple top 100 freshmen or proven transfers this program will not make the NCAA tournament, hopefully the 1890 nil collective will help with recruiting. Only 1 NCAA tournament appearance in 23 years is not acceptable from a power 6 program, with resources.
  5. I’ve been a HuskerHoops fan since the late 70’s,I usually went to 3 or 4 home games a year and secured season tickets when the Huskers moved to Pinnacle Bank Arena, I live in Omaha. For many years the talk was the university just did not make a full commitment to HuskerHoops, no practice facility, just an average arena in the Devaney Center and hiring mid-major coaches. After getting a state of art practice facility, new arena in Pinnacle Bank arena and finally hiring a power 5 coach that has NCAA tourney wins, the program has sunk to worst stretch I have seen. My question is what’s it going to take for Fred to turn this program around? I realize BIG conference is a great basketball conference, but I see many other programs (Football schools) invest much less than HuskerHoops and are making the NCAA tournament on a regular basis and other power 5 programs with new coaches turn it around in the first few years. My final thoughts, HuskerHoops needs to recruit the state of Nebraska much better, especially when they are highly rated players. Thanks for listening, HuskerHoops fan in Omaha.
  6. With Xavier Johnson having signed a LOI, why would NU give him his release?
  7. I a diehard Husker basketball fan since the late 70's. I'm just very frustrated with the last of respect for the NU basketball program. We should at least have a first round home game in the NIT.
  8. If I was NU I would consider boycotting the NIT. I understand NU was a bubble team, but to get a 5th seed and no home game is an absolute slap in the face. NU basketball is the Rodney Dangerfield of college hoops: NO RESPECT!
  9. This post is wanting more for this program! The goal is NCAA tourney period! Going to the NIT or staying home is about the same now days.
  10. I agree, the pressure was on the Huskers today. I think it really helped Michigan playing yesterday, most teams have struggled shooting there first game in MSG. I was amazed that Wagner was able to dunk and flex and no tech was issued?
  11. There is no Knee jerk reaction here, just history repeating the same old story! Miles teams have earned a 4th seed twice, and have lost both times. I have followed this team for 40 plus years and I am a season ticket holder.,Just want to see this team be a consistent NCAA team.
  12. I would love to be playing in Dayton. I'm just tired of knowing we are going to lose a game. I have seen this repeated for 40 plus years with very few exceptions.
  13. I think Bill Moos should wait until the roster is set before he renews Miles contract. If all underclassmen come back this team will contend, and be in the NCAA tourney next year and Miles should have his contract extended. If guys leave we could be back the the 11-15 win season.
  14. Each year the NIT is becoming more meaningless. The NCAA's moved from 32 to 64 teams in the 80's when there was around 200 division 1 teams, now there are 351 teams, they added just 4 teams a few years ago, there should be 96 teams. NIT is a joke now. I say turn a bid down! No one cares about the NIT.
  15. Huskers are 11 1/2 point underdog to Kansas. The early line is a little higher than I though. I figured 7 to 9 point dog. Vegas is really giving us much of a chance.
  16. Miles just stood there after Watson fouls out not touching the Creighton player, that call basically ended the game! Show some emotion Tim, that was one of the worst calls I have seen in awhile. 0-6 against Creighton is not acceptable.
  17. I noticed the Big Tv schedule has been released. This is the first year Big basketball is on Fox & FS1 along with CBS, ESPN networks & BTN. Looking at the Huskers conference schedule we have no Fox or CBS games(not a surprise) but we have only 1 conference game on FS1 and 0 conference games on ESPN networks, there must not be a must carry each conference team a minimum times on FS1 or ESPN? It sure seemed like the old tv deal the Huskers had at least 4 or 5 conference games on the ESPN networks.Just looking at Purdue's conference schedule they only have 8 conference games on BTN, the Huskers have 17 conference games on BTN.
  18. What are realistic expectations for the Husker Hoops program? My expectations for this program should be a lot higher than the current administration is accepting. With the new practice facility and new arena this program should never have a losing season period.(NIT or NCAA every year) With NU now getting a full share of the Big Ten revenue, we need to spend more money on recruiting and coaching in basketball, if this administration truly wants to win in basketball, NU should have one of the biggest budgets in basketball in the conference. No open scholarships. It seems like NU is always has unused scholarships, we need all the players we can get, depth is key due to injuries. Go Big Red!
  19. Can anyone really think this program (win/loss) is in any better shape now than under the last year of Barry Collier? Miles has the benefit of a new practice facility and new arena and the results are the same. (Should make the NCAA tourney or Nit every year) This program cannot afford to lose players early, when they do not go to the NBA, he has lost Terran,Walt and White. This is the worst shooting team in NU history. Not being able to get any of the top Nebraska kids (No excuses) two at Creighton and one at Omaha.
  20. Huskers & Wisconsin only Big teams with no Saturday home conference games. I thought maybe being a top tier team would get you more Saturday home games, after looking at a composite that is not the case, Penn St and Rutgers are near the top. Here is a listing of each teams Saturday home conference games ( I did this really quick, hopefully no errors) Michigan 5 Penn St 4 Rutgers 4 Maryland 3 Illinois 3 Indiana 2, TBD 1 Minnesota 2, TBD 1 Iowa 2 Purdue 2 MSU 1,TBD 1 NW 1,TBD 1 OSU 1 TBD 1 Wisconsin 0 NU 0 No reason for some teams to have 4 or 5 Saturday home games and others get 1 or zero.
  21. Help me understand because I don't think your first statement about a baseline donation is correct. I've been wrong before though. You can donate at any time to boost your priority points. Say you want to make a significant donation to increase your priority points and shoot yourself up the list for a better seat yourself time slot. So you take a pile of cash, maybe $10k, and hand it over. This boosts you up the list and you are able to move down into the non-club 100 level which requires a $100 per seat annual donation. You are not required to fork over 10k each year plus the seat contribution just to keep those tickets. That was the entire purpose of the standardized seat donations across the board (no donation, $50/seat, $100/seat, $750/seat for club) and the sport specific donations so you didn't have people who wanted better seats all trying to outbid each other with no process to regulate it. You can now donate toward the process to accumulate points which helps get/improve tickets, but once you get them the required seat donation is equal across the board for whatever level of seats you have. To clarify, I made a small basketball donation in Feb, at that time I had section 322 seats, no donation required for this section, then during the seat yourself process I was able to move down to section 222, no donation required for this section. My question is will I have to make the same basketball donation for the upcoming season, since the small donation moved me up just enough to get section 222 tickets?
  22. I have had 3, 322 level tickets for the first 3 years of Pinnacle bank arena, no donation required. In Feb I made a basketball donation to add to my points, this week I was able to move from 322 to 222, the new seats require no donation. My question is that since I made a small basketball donation in Feb, will be required to make this donation each year?
  23. No Saturday conference home games is just not acceptable. I understand the Big 10 network needs Sunday games, but all teams should have close to an even split between Saturday and Sunday home conference games.
  24. I was able to move from 321 to 222 today at 1:03 today, at that time there were only a few singles in the 100 level and the 200 level had just a few seats together.
