Some of them on their board have said how NU fans are saying "enjoying it CU while you can."  Here is why I actually feel confident NU can start to do well in this series.

Miles is a good coach

Miles will be a good recruiter

NU has FINALLY spent some $$ on hoops

PBA will be a true home court advantage

I think Altman was a much better coach that McDermott is.

McDermott's best "recruit" to date is his son.

Unless he has another All-American son anywhere.....

Even some CU fans I know don't completely trust McDermott

They were gift wrapped getting Gibbs back another year

For as much as they hate that we as NU fans think this will be there last year of success.....we as NU fans could also argue that we as NU fans get sick and tired of hearing every year that this is CU's "breakout year"  I can't tell you how many times I have heard CU fans say they will make the Sweet 16, Elite and hell some even say Final 4.

So this is the "read dumb things on some Creighton board and retype them" thread?

Screw it.  You guys have been great for the last couple of weeks.  Go nuts.  You've earned it.

If I can ask one thing, it's that you don't bring up user names from other boards.

That motivates those users to come here and then it's annoying when I have to ban them because those are the type of people we don't want over here.

Allow me to share some of their wisdom:

Questions:

1. What Colorado State head coach who was only there for 5 seasons has 3 of 4 worst final kenpom ratings of the past 11 Colorado State seasons, and maxed out at a rating of 78, which was only good for 5th place in a 9 team MWC?

2. How many road conference games did Colorado State win in their only Tim Miles-led NCAA tournament appearance?

3. How many true road wins against top-100 kenpom opposition did Tim Miles have in his 5 years at Colorado State?

Answers:

1. Tim Miles

2. One

3. One

First of all, the level of insecurity for a Creighton fan to have to go look up some of these obscure statistics is just unbelievable. For a fanbase who supposedly doesn't worry much about what we're doing down here...well then, here's a question for you, Jays' fans, and it took very little effort to look up: Who went 12-36 in the Big 12 in his last 3 seasons at Iowa State? Greg McDermott. Hell, even Doc Sadler went 17-31 in his last 3 years in the Big 12. And we know what Creighton fans think about Doc Sadler. Good luck against those Big East teams. I predict McDermott is out within 3 years, unless he has another son coming up through HS.

They are saying that on their message boards. Saying this will be the last year we beat them. That's strange, last I saw our recruiting class this year is better than theirs. Its not like we are going to fall into obscurity.

No one said this will be the last year Creighton will beat NU. But it is the last year the dominance ends. Creighton, your best player in the history of your program is gone after this season. Take recruiting classes out of it, and here is why things will be different next year moving forward. Also, remember, 2 of the players in NU's starting lineup are sophomores who transfered from Florida and Texas Tech. That doesn't show up in recruiting classes, but it's a huge reason why Nebraska is on its way to being better.

As of right now and not counting defections, Creighton will return:

Scoring - 43%

Rebounding - 55%

Assists - 54%

Minutes - 48%

Nebraska (with just 1 senior) will have back:

Scoring - 92%

Rebounding - 97%

Assists - 93%

Minutes - 91%

The only reason I do not think Nebraska will win this year (did you hear that, Creighton fan?) is the inexperience and it being the first true road game. Other than that, our talent level stacks up very favorably outside of Dougie.

Broadcasters buying the every game a sellout BS. Just checked. Tons of tix for tonight at $11. Keep smoking the crack, Sker fans.

Creighton fans are spending their Wednesday nights looking up if Husker basketball tickets are available. Priceless. Also, morons, season tickets sold out. Not all the games. Marc Boehm has said this. A select number of single-game tickets were reserved for each game.

Announcers talking about the offensive and physical gifts of this Nebraska team, the balance and bench, and praising the defensive ability. Must not be watching the same game as everyone else.

Or they're watching the game without blue goggles on and don't have a hate for the team they're watching.

Husker bball fans think we are delusional yet they are the ones who think they're gonna become a powerhouse next year, every year.

Exaggerate much? From a guy with "Final 4" in his message board name? Powerhouse? We just want to make the damn 68-team tourney. Creighton, you are the ones who came into the season projecting a Final 4 run. Hell, a week ago you thought you were going to run through the Big East and win it with ease. Now after some stumbles, you're just hoping you're good enough to make the tournament.

What I saw tonight was ugly basketball, different than the Doc ugly, but still ugly. I don't think Miami could have played worse and they're a mediocre (at best) team right now, anyway.

This is rich. Less than a week ago Creighton was bragging about their huge blowout win over Arizona State. Miami beat that same ASU team on Sunday. Now Miami is "mediorce at best"...what does that make that powerhouse ASU team Creighton beat? Terrible?

Was the UNL-Miami game really 22-13 at the half? Did they give away free Red Bull to keep people from falling asleep? Good grief that is some ugly basketball...

Creighton scored 24 points in the 1st half against George Washington. Apparently they've forgotten. "Ugly" basketball must be in the eye of the beholder. While last night's game wasn't pretty, I would argue that our 96-90 loss to UMass and our 87-74 loss to UAB were pretty dang ugly. I know I cringed watching those guys go in for layup after layup, free throw after free throw.

Please have them do the lame egg and then it pops out please, please, please.

That would be just to easy.

If they do, we leave them with egg on their face.

or hope they lay an egg.

or maybe it will be a bad egg.

or well you get the idea.:)

After all this time, I admit I still don't get this. Probably because I tend to worry about the weeds in my own yard more than the weeds in my neighbors' yards.

Nebraska is full of trash talking punks this year. I want to put a Ditka like beating on the players, coach, university, and fan base. The whole University is just a drag on our country's education system.

Yikes.

But what about when your neighbor's weeds spread to your lawn?

Except that you already have weeds in your own yard to worry about, which is pretty clearly spelled out. But I think you illustrated the point nicely.

I think DM will be back next year... I really do.  Why would he go pro?  He's already rich, and he's not going to be a lottery pick because of his height and athleticism.  Don't get me wrong, he's an incredible college player, but his game doesn't transfer.  He's like the power forward version of Jimmer Fredette.  I wish he was going pro this year, but I just don't see it.

He is a junior, right?

Uh, no.  This is his senior year.

Is that you Leslee? I'd imagine Leslee's quote on the OWH got their panties in a wad.  They cling to anything and everything Husker.

Yet they are probably hanging out at Memorial Stadium rooting on the Husker football team.

Jays are beatable. I think this team is prepared to go in an steal a win. Will they? No clue Doug is an unbelievable player and protects his house. We must get back in transition. The last ten minutes were sloppy last night defensively. We will not have a 15point lead as comfort. We allow their shooters to get wide open threes in transition a close game turns into a route in the blink of an eye. That building can be lame for an environment at times but if they get on a run and crowd roaring......we will get run out of the building.

Hope we D up

I had to venture over to the Jays board just to see what they thought of this game.

What kind of blows my mind is their mentality of "We have nothing to gain and everything to lose?"

How do they honestly feel this way?  Look, NU hasn't been a great team in a long time, but how can they feel this way?  Even some of them felt this way when they were in the Valley which really blew my mind.  You still get a shot at beating a BCS team.  Sure, we are low in the B10, but it still helps them.

And now some of them (not surprisingly) stick their noses even higher in the air now that they are in the Big East.  Even though in my eyes it still isn't a great conference since losing (Syracuse, Cincy, Notre Dame, Pitt, Lousiville, UCONN).

It doesn't surprise me they feel this way as they have always and will always be a fan base that thinks they are better than they are.  I could understand if they have made some nice runs in the tourney, but they haven't.  Wichita State for example has done some things come tourney time.  Jays....not at all.  But their argument is always "Well, at least we have won a game."  If that's what makes them feel better, to compare themselves to a team that "They have nothing to gain from beating" then so be it.

I don't know.  I have a hard time getting riled up over their ignorance.  It all feels just a little manufactured, this "rivalry", a bit like Colorado in the 90's.  But if it's what they need to enjoy watching their team, then okay.

Let them enjoy it, I say.  I can't imagine many things worse than being a Creighton fan.

I HATE CREIGHTON and everything about that program. It's like they have small man disease and always trying to prove they are better.  I totally agree with you bballer23 as right now, moving to the Big East is not much of a step up from the MVC.  Creighton like to think their program is on a whole different level than NU's.  We were unfortantely not to hire a coach that has an All American son which has made CU fans think their are an elite program for some reason.  They better enjoy any kind of success this year as they will take a HUGE step backwards next year.
