Robin Washut just put an update on Rivals via Peegs.com saying that 2015 4-star 6-2, 170-lb. DC point guard Bryant Crawford will be taking an unofficial visit to Lincoln Sept. 13-15. He'll take in the UCLA football game as well.

Crawford is Rivals' #26-ranked player in the country for 2015 and he has a good relationship with Husker AC Kenya Hunter, who's tight with Crawford's AAU squad, Team Takeover. Crawford averaged 10 pts, 6 assists and 3 steals per game last year as a sophomore in high school.

Great news! I love what Kenya Hunter is doing.

Impressive to get him to come here on his own dime. Never know what will happen down the road with this kid, but its good to get as many people here to see what we have to offer. Things will start to change.

Holy SHRIT!  Did I really just type that?

We're getting visits with players we'd have only dreamed about two years ago.  Who cares if it's an unofficial visit, he'll still be here.  Man, if we sign even one of those two guys -- Robinson or Crawford -- I'll be running around like some teen girl who just bumped into Justin Bieber.

OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG ...

Hopefully there is serious interest here and not just a courtesy visit.  I suppose we'll find out shortly after September 14.

Regardless, getting these guys in for unofficials is impressive.  I can't believe it.

A courtesy visit from DC to Lincoln, NE on his own dime?

I highly doubt he's actually paying for this.  Not saying we are fronting the cost, but I'm sure there are some back channels being worked to help get him here without digging into his bank account.  And I'm completely on board with that.

My thoughts exactly.

If it were a visit to URI or Navy, George Mason...something like that, then yeah.  Maybe a courtesy visit.  But it's not like you can hop on the intercity and get to Lincoln or anything.

actually the majority of big time players do this their sophomore and junior years so they can commit early.  Whats a few hundred dollars when you get a free education.  Its funny you see it more in hoops than football.
