This has been mentioned in other threads throughout this off season, but I wanted to merge all those thoughts into one area...

How many wins would it take for this team to keep this positive momentum that Tim Miles and Staff have generated over the past year?  How many wins will it take for you personally to feel like the arrow is going up not stalling or falling down? How many wins do expect to get out of this years squad?

Look forward to hearing your individual thoughts and collective feel

21+ wins.  If I'm wrong I'll cheer for Creighton the following season.

Nothing wrong with that.  Creighton is a pleasant little community in northeast Nebraska.  :)

That's true.  I suppose being that pleasant little Northeast Nebraska community is what got them into the Big East.

Back on topic, I agree with Vinny...I'll reserve judgement on this until after the full schedule is out.  I'm currently leaning towards the 16-18 box for both polls though.

I think making the NIT would be a good step in the right direction.  Considering all the new players we will have on the floor I think it will take some time for them to mesh.  Just hope to keep making progress.

Making it to the championship game of the NCAA Tourny.  Alright...that might be a bit high. I'll say if we can win enough to get us to the NIT (minimum)...beat Creighton (the school not the town...haha) and finish no lower than 7th in the Big 10 I'd be happy.

LOL what?

I can get board with wanting to make the NIT... but seriously you think we should beat Creighton and finish at least 7th in the B1G?  That is crazy.

That's not crazy at all.

Why would that be crazy? Why shouldn't we beat Creighton? Not that it is going to happen but had we won three more conference games last season we might have been closer to seventh. Unless you don't think we can have a team that can do either of those.

It will be a tall order beating them at home this year though not any taller than beating any other B1G team on the road.

Beating Creighton is more of a pride thing.

Finishing 7th in the BiG is making a tournament thing.

No reason not to want both...just illustrating their big picture value.

One good thing about the Creighton game is we had 3 players sitting there watching us get spanked in our own house last year.  Every one of those 3 were itching to get out onto that court and help.  Those three have been here a year and want to give everything right back to them.

Creighton is a top 15 program that we have to play on the road.  Expecting to beat them is setting yourself up for disappointment.

I would also posit that there is a huge difference between 6th and 7th place.  6th place gets you a decent shot to go dancing.  7th place would be NIT or even a lower tournament than that if the league it down.  I guess we would hope for 7th but expecting us to get higher or finish .500 just seems crazy.

Top 15 program? Not sure if serious......

They might be a top 20 team this year but will take a HUGE stepback next year and not sure they will have a team anytime in the near future as good as they will have this year.  I venture to say that NU will have a better team than Creighton within 2 years.

Was is not synonymous with Is.

Creighton will not be a top 15 program this next season.  They will still be solid, but not top 15.  Losing Echinique is alot bigger deal than people are making it out to be.  Obviously, McDermott is the All-American on the team, but losing Echinique in the paint next to him will have an effect on the team.

Just because Creighton might have been rated in the top 15 or so for a few weeks last season, doesn't make them a top 15 program.
