washut tweeted that we are officially looking into Davis along with a couple other transfers.

Awesome. We are officially within the dead period, correct? How long is this period? When does it end? There's no talking to recruits during this time? Can Miles talk to his coaches/mentors/handlers while he's down at the Final 4? What are the chances of Miles hunkering down in that area, chasing down some Davis people, and then finally talking to Davis once the dead period is over? Davis is from Carolina? Transferring out of Louisiana? Final 4 in Atlanta? I don't know my geography very well but all those places are 'down South'.

(2) May 16-25, 2013, [except for (i) below]: Dead Period

(i) To be determined (NBA Draft Combine): Evaluation Period

It looks like you get April 11 thru April 14 and then April 22 thru April 24 to recruit besides those evaluations at qualified events. What the hell is a quiet period? And what was the rule change about contacting recruits by phone/text that went into effect last year? Can you do those things during a quiet period? I assume dead means no contact at all.

You guys dont' remember quiet time from preschool? I loved quiet time. Wish we had it at work.

I remember nap time.  Had a love/hate relationship with it.  Never got picked to be the "wake-up" fairy.  Made me mad.  Always thought I could do a good job of waking people up.  The other "wake-up" fairies had poor technique.  Didn't keep their elbows in.  Poor release on the wand.  No follow through.  I just wanted to show 'em.

did anyone else have those plastic cots they were given for nap time?  I swear those things were the worst.

Isn't that interesting how we took a thread on Josh Davis possibly leading us to the NCAA tourney next year and turned it into a thread on nap time in Kindergarten?

The amateur psychiatrist in me says that this is probably a result of Cornhusker fans having a subconscious fear of success due to the endless succession of disappointments and heat break.

Now, tell me about your mother.

I think your parents might have just taken you to a horrible daycare.

Norm...I hear you are actually quite familiar with a few of our mothers!

You tell us about them.

Still waiting for that "Heat" moment for the Big Red... their 27 straight win streak being snapped would be a "heat break"!

Has anyone heard anything new about Davis?  I know it's dead period, but I didn't know if a recruiting analyst had said or written anything since Washut's initial mentioning of Nebraska looking at him.  I haven't heard anything lately.

@OaklandZoo: According to @Panther_247, Tulane transfer Josh Davis has Pitt in his list of 4 teams he's looking at along w/ Gonzaga, Illinois, & Iowa St

Illinois has a really nice recruiting class coming in, and he'd be perfect next to Egwu. Hopefully he stays away from Champaign.

Iowa Frickin' State.  Why them?  Pisses me off.  There's an athletic program that should shrivel on the vine.  Yet, there they are ...

I'd like a kid like this.  Be nice to have one of those one-year guys so that we can re-offer the spot for the class of 2014 and not have it tied up.  So, on the one hand it would be disappointing not to get him but on the other hand, it's only a 1-year deal.

He should come here.  He could have more impact on this program that virtually anywhere else he might go.

Ehh, can't blame him. This is his last shot at making the NCAA Tournament. Why go to Nebraska when good programs are after you? Enjoy your final season playing for a proven winning team.

You're right. Can't blame him. But, just one, just one of these high talent guys has got to think it would be cool to come hang out with the boys in Hendricks listening to music, shooting pool, and watching games on a billion inches of screen whether you're lounging on the custom couch or taking a poop.

They are the king of transfers.

Plus they are competitive, playing a fun style, and have a good young coach. I think we should be encouraged by their success. If they can do it, so can we.
