They should hire Bill Walton. Listening him bemoan the UCLA program's lack this season on the Pac-12 games has been exhausting. He seems to have a problem with Howland and the way he coaches, so I say, give Bill the job. Put up or shut up you hippy 

 

In the interest of full disclosure, I generally enjoy Walton's broadcasting, I just think he got a little carried away on Howland this year.

Perhaps they fired Tubby as a pre emptive strike?  With Shaka's name coming up at UCLA, they might want to throw everything they have at him before it's too late.  Could be disastrous for them if that's the case.  If I'm Shaka, I'm taking the UCLA job over Minnesota 100 times out of 100, regardless of the relationship I have with Minny's AD.

Well, if they don't land Shaka Smart, it's because Smart didn't want to go there.  There will be overtures and undertures to his peeps trying to guage interest.  But if you don't hear his name mentioned as a legit candidate (and if they claimed they never offered him the job) it will be because he turned them down right off the bat.

 

But now we'll see.  See if they can get him or not.  I think it would be great for Minnie if they could be I don't think it would be a good career move for Shaka.  JMOO.

What a horrible move by Minnesota. Firing a coach after coming off of a successful season where they made it to the round of 32 and very close to the round of 16 is going to hurt their search unless they have somebody lined up.

It is unbelievable how much Minnesota fans hate Tubby, I get that he has underachieved there but its never smart to fire a good coach if you don't have one lined up.  I believe its called the Frank Solich Doctrine.
