The Cloud Nine Thread

That Rock Bottom thread is burried deep, deep, into the interwebs right now. Let's not resurface that any time soon.

 

There were times we thought we hit rock bottom, when in reality there was more rock to dig. I'm going with the same theory here. We haven't reached Cloud Nine. But we're at a state of cloud nine that will soon get us to a grander state of cloud nine.

 

Yesterday, Fred won the national coach of the year award. Then Brice Williams and Juwan Gary publicly announced their commitment to the program. Then Keisei Tominaga won the internet and the 3-point shooting competition. What a day for Nebraska basketball. What a day.

 

Let this be your Cloud Nine safe space for those moments that just make you smile inside and outside about Nebraska basketball. I hope this thread gets resurfaced more than the rival one that's gotten a lot of miles of use over the years.

I highly doubt Fidler has intention of transferring and not starting, potentially same for Billiew.

I think Ulis will nab that PG spot.  He's a solid player.  We could use another one though.   

 

I'm guessing we'll be looking to fill the 3 with someone other than Gary who can really shoot it.  Gary is a very good 4.  Fidler would be ideal at the 3.  So would Williams with Janowski at the 2, but our defense would suffer.  Then one or two more bigs for a rotation at the 4-5.  Kyle and Morgan would be great but I'm guessing we get one or the other.

Billiew didn’t do enough to warrant a starting spot.  Fidler I can see.  
but this is cloud 9 thread.  Not even money thread

Again, we tend to get lost in the portal here and we may grab a few there; but do not forget the foreign market and the JUCO ranks.

Think Fred really likes the bigger lineup for the big10 for sure. Think there is a reason we are going after numerous bigs. Wants an athletic big 4 to play with Mast. Kyle would be perfect.

 

i like Uhlis but think we will shoot for a legit stud PG/Combo guard if we can

Yeah, it's hit and miss.  Hit on Tominaga, missed on Blaise.  Then again, we've missed on all of our recent freshmen.

Just had a run-in with the largest Dunkin' franchisee owner earlier today. I'm going to consider that, in connection with this post, a good omen for things to come with Nebraska basketball.

Valhalla next season begins in Wichita, KS, for the 1st & 2nd rounds of March Madness. Final Four in San Antonio, remember the Alamo (Bowl).
