It may have also demoralized them pretty badly. This is a team that has been mentally volatile all year. SOmetimes amazingly tough, other times they make Charmin look like sandpaper.

I don't want to start anything here, but it had something to do with the term "freshman" and how NW has chosen an alternate term for that class. Nuff said.

Cut it under 10 and see if they tighten up.  It is going to sound strange but this one matters the least of the remaining games.

 

I really wish we would play tighter 3-point defense early in games.

Our biggest problem on the perimeter defensively is just that we aren’t very athletic.

I've said it multiple times... there is NO reason this team shouldn't dance THIS year and if we don't I won't be happy with where the program is at.  Losing this one isn't going to knock us out, but it means we're going to have to be better than we have been on the road down the stretch.  It doesn't get any easier Sunday either.

The games we've squandered early against Rutgers and Minny are looming large the deeper into the season we go.

if we saw ourselves as being a peer with NW for a tourney bid, this game is doing a lot to demolish that self-assessment. Credit NW. They cam for some nice, tasty revenge tonight.

Yeah-- unfortunately, we're now going to be going into our "softest" stretch and we can't really avoid any slip ups.  It would have been nice to play a little loose and instead we'll probably be a little tight knowing we're towing a fine line.

Unfortunately this has the feeling of the wheels about to fall off. But I felt good about this game before tip off so what do I know?

Seems like they're gassed and it would be surprising for them to come out firing but let's see

This team is backwards so often. It's defense that's supposed to travel. When everything goes wrong, you can still defend. Not these guys. They have to focus to play D. It's not ingrained in them like, say, Doc's teams used to be. 

 

47 points in a half in college? That's not a whole lot better than Northwestern just playing a practice scrimmage.
