You'll love this story, then. It had to be 1973, maybe 74. I spent an afternoon or two each week at the Aurora swimming pool. They played "Go All The Way" over the loud speaker at least 3 times a day. The manager/head lifeguard had big boobs. I still remember her name. Gotta remember, this comes from a 12-13 year old perspective. AuroranHusker and Cazzie22 1 1 Quote

GBR Posted March 13, 2024 Report Posted March 13, 2024 I watched Fox and Friends this morning and they were brought to tears of hearing of his death and learning he was a fan of the show. Quote

AuroranHusker Posted April 13, 2024 Report Posted April 13, 2024 Ol' MacDonald sure went all 'in' on that, I knew he was a baller, but I had forgotten how hard and fast he went. I enjoyed his fake "Tonight Show"-like show he made, must have been after SNL shit-canned him for this.... Quote
cipsucks Posted April 18, 2024 Author Report Posted April 18, 2024 I have a Dickey Betts song coming shortly, but I came across this video today. Didn't know where else to put it, but I'm sure many on this board will enjoy watching it. Cazzie22 1 Quote
jimmykc Posted April 18, 2024 Report Posted April 18, 2024 Few will remember that this song played in a scene in "The Exorcist". RIP Little Dickie. Actually, it is an appropriate song for many of the guys who enter the portal now. Cazzie22 1 Quote

Cazzie22 Posted April 19, 2024 Report Posted April 19, 2024 Dickey Betts wrote my favorite songs for the Allman Brothers Band. A tremendous guitarist and an underrated vocalist, I will always enjoy “Blue Sky”, “Ramblin’ Man” and “Jessica.” What a gift he left to us. Chuck Taylor 1 Quote

cipsucks Posted May 1, 2024 Author Report Posted May 1, 2024 Unfortunately, two more today. The first bums me out. Richard Tandy, keyboardist for ELO passed today at age 76. He and Jeff Lynne were close. ELO was planning a reunion tour later this year. Doubt it happens now. I would have travelled to see that one. RIP, Richard. Duane Eddy also went to Rock and Roll heaven today at age 86. One of the greatest guitarists of all time. Love this song! Cazzie22 and Handy Johnson 2 Quote
Bugeaters1 Posted May 1, 2024 Report Posted May 1, 2024 A couple of buddies and I went to KC to see ELO in 78. The nest Concert I had been to until I went to a KISS Concert.Sent from my SM-S911U using Tapatalk Quote
Cazzie22 Posted May 2, 2024 Report Posted May 2, 2024 I believe Jeff Lynne will still tour ELO as Richard Tandy had been in poor health for some time. RIP. Tandy was a brilliant keyboardist. One could always recognize a Duane Eddy guitar tune. I like “Because They’re Young.” Quote

The Allmans had FOUR guitarists on Rolling Stone's list of 100 top guitarists: Dickey, Duane Allman, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes.
