Memphis landed David Jones from St Johns.

They have one scholarship available but playing time is going to be scarce there.

It's probable that playing time in San Fran is easier to come by than Lincoln.  I have to think our success with Dalano Banton could be the deciding factor for us.

It was not. Always be the first stop for a transfer because there might not be a second.

hasn't been reported that we've reached out, but he'd be about as perfect for the offense as they can find. Coach Howard followed fwiw, but there's going to be some heavy hitters to go at for mulcahy. Really like him though

Still out there

Interesting subplot to additions to the roster is the Spain trip end of July. I would imagine that Fred would like to not still be maybe additions after that. Still have about a month, but we'll probably see something soon I think? Here's some more names of guys who are out there. I don't really have a preference positionally, but I do think adding one more guy is something they'll do.

Ideally we want to sign a guy(s) sooner than later but we'd take Mulcahy whenever he wanted to come here.

Mulcahy is #1 on my list at this point by a pretty big margin. He can come in whenever as it would probably be a pretty seamless transition to Fred's offense with his preferred playstyle

Mulcahy would solve the playmaking hole the team currently has. From the time he entered the portal, I saw the fit on the court. Isaac trotter is the guy who reported it, and I've never heard of dude, so we'll see. Proven in the big ten, and has an honorable all big ten under his belt, so he can play.

Hopefully it happens. Would be perfect in my opinion

The last paragraph of that article grabbed my attention:

"Penn State quietly got old and made an improbable run to the NCAA Tournament. Nebraska is hoping to follow that same model. The Husker own the most veteran team in the Big Ten by a wide margin. Nebraska only has three freshmen or sophomores on the roster. Every other Big Ten team has at least five underclassmen. But Nebraska can start dreaming of something bigger if it can lock down Mulcahy."

I can see why Adrame Diongue would be intriguing but his numbers sort of scream 'there is a 15% chance I might be good in 2-3 years'.  End of the bench lottery ticket scholarship 13 kind of guy.

A very good reason to be skeptical of the rating/star system.  He was/is a 4* recruit.   Wilhelm is/was as well.

I guess stars could matter, but the system the player goes to has to match the players set of skills.  Or so it seems.

That's kinda how I felt about the 7'2, 4-star, top 50 kid who just committed to someone else. Whatever his name was. Doesn't matter. His video just looked like he was really good at being tall.

I think MIkki Moore was around 220# at 7'-0" tall, and he was a string bean ! 😅

When Mikki got here he was listed 6’10” 180.  I could not believe Nee didn’t redshirt him to develop his body.  That was when Big Country and Ostertag were in the league…they literally had 100 lbs on him.  If my memory serves me correctly (far from a sure thing) he played a total of 18 minutes that year.  By the time his body matured he was a force.  One of my all time favorites.
